liquidcross #1 Posted February 3, 2005 I found this thing for use with my 800XL, and I'm wondering if it would be worth it. What exactly is it used for, aside from fastbooting into DOS and such? Does it help with games, interfaces, etc? Forgive my cluelessness...
Goochman #2 Posted February 3, 2005 It gives complete 800/XL/XE compatibility in 1 box - nice to have for those things that need the Translator - With SIO2PC or the right DOS it does increase SIO load times. The new one has 32 OS's for things like the MyIDE HD interface
Shawn Jefferson #3 Posted February 4, 2005 With the APE WarpOS, you get 3X SIO in all applications, even games (as long as the drive is fast SIO compatible, which APE or any of the other SIO2PC solutions are.) No SIO patches required! MyIDE ROMs are also included as mentioned by Goochman. You also get a bunch of other OSes, some of them pretty cool. Reverse BASIC is so logical, it makes me wonder why Atari didn't do it themselves (well I know the reason they didn't, but still it rocks.)
