Starcat
Hi Robert ! Thanks a lot. Great that you decided to make it public. Could you also release the CD audio part as source ? Maybe that will help me to finally get the SPU to work with Eerievale. Regards, Lars.
JRob
Thanks a lot. Great that you decided to make it public. No problem, i hope that some other guys here might find it helpful too. Could you also release the CD audio part as source ? Look here for the jcdlib source. To compile the thing you'll also need the riscmnem include file. Maybe that will help me to finally get the SPU to work with Eerievale. I hope the source does it for you. Since i'm running W2K for a while now i cannot guarntee that it compiles like you wish. justclaws
Hello, i've decided to upload the sources for the SPU (Jaguar Sound Library) on my webspace for everybody that was or still is interested in it.The version 1.05 is the most stablie version and also the last one. Thanks Robert, that's REALLY good of you, and for Jag home-brewers. I'll be really interested to see some of the techniques you used for the sound library, because I have SO MUCH to learn about sound & music. Thanks and thanks again. Cheers, JustClaws. Starcat
Hi Robert ! Thanks a lot for the CD Audio code as well. In my opinion Sound/Music are some of the biggest remaining problems for Jaguar developers, so your code is very helpful. Regards, Lars. JRob
.. ok, have fun with it though, at this point i have simply to thank 42Bastian, as it was his wired replayer source which gave me the nuts to crack :-) ... although the SPU things works very different. .... for me releasing the source was realsing too in many ways, and it's not the end of my work on sound for the Jaguar ... Peace all!

Starcat
Hello folks! Jeff Nihlean recently contacted me if I still had the SPU Lib by JRob. As the weblinks here are broken, I'll just post the files here. It's still the only working lib with cd audio support that I know of. I wish somebody would implement CD audio support in the awesome current audio libs (like Linkos work). Maybe this code is a starting point. Enjoy! Cheers, Lars jcdlib.zip spulib105.zip Edited May 8, 2013 by Starcat
sh3-rg
linko has CD audio 99%, but it's not in the release builds. So Rush6432 hasn't sulked off into oblivion then, Are you sure it was him who contacted you and not a jaguar uberhacker via rootkit ...?

After being out of the loop for so long, I suppose it was him. He didn't say much. Just asked if I still had the lib. Not sure if he wanted to use it for anything or was just curious. LinkoVitch
I will be cracking on with CD Audio when I get some time, busy boy at the moment with house sorting stuffs. But I have got audio playback working with my own code, needs some refinement and some more expeimentation before it ends up in a SE release though. Good to see you are still about Lars, hope you find time for some Jaggy fun soon

So Rush6432 hasn't sulked off into oblivion then, Are you sure it was him who contacted you and not a jaguar uberhacker via rootkit ...? Woah, the U-235 engine has an abnormal amount of similarities to J-Robs sound engine! Jeff contacted me by rootkit and he said "I am also busy taking/modifying other peoples code so I can label it as my own. It's too hard to credit the real creators." So then I asked him "Whats next Jeff?" And he simply replied, "Im hard at work making 10 different games using the same format." SO I continued," What format is that?" "Well mostly side scrolling spectrum games, but I will change them up by changing the direction that they move." Bold statements from an innovative man. +Sauron
The next person to say anything negative about another person FOR ANY REASON is going to end up on permanent mod preview. You have been warned.
