2600 Lord of the Rings on cart challenge...

Recommended Posts

Hey gang,

I just got a message from Randy at Hozer Video. Seems that the bankswitching Parker Brothers used for Lord of the Rings is different from the bankswitching Atari normally used and he can't get it burned onto a cart.

So, my challenge is this: has *anyone* gotten LOTR burned and working onto a 2600-compatible cart? Any one want to try it?

Confirmed. Parker's bank-switching method is much more sophisticated than the standard Atari. More more information about the various bank-switching type can be found here:

I was referring to the "No LOTR from Hozer" thing... it's cool that the Cuttle Cart works with it, but I'd still rather have the game on it's own cartridge with a label and all.

Ok. Now I understand.

Well, I guess it's time for you guys to hit up Chris Wilkson to make an E0 board for Hozer.

Or will AL start a new label competition for it?

Hehheh I can see it now...Someone will use Tatoo from Fantasy Island (as one of the hobbits)on the lable, and all hell will break loose.
