I know I disagree sometimes about "cool" games and, like Adventure, think that Enduro was the most overrated games of all time. I think Pole Position came out after Enduro, but was worth the wait in my estimation. Pole Position music really rocks, sound is very good. Pole Position is like a finished Enduro--graphics are a bit more convincing. One of the best arcade ports ever done on the 2600. Especially with smooth curves in the turns and a sense of 3D that Endure lacks. I thought Activation's "Grand Prix" was more interesting than Enduro. Night Driver was addictive...but that game #4 (wasn't it random?) was darn near impossible at times.
StanJr #2 Posted December 21, 2001 Enduro and Pole Position (if only they could have included the SFX: "Prepare to qualify.")
Lemmi #3 Posted December 21, 2001 Enduro all the way baby!!! and after playing the 7800 version of pole position i cant play the 2600 version no more
ATARIPITBULL #4 Posted December 21, 2001 Enduro, is the best classic car game for the Atari 2600 system to play, and I have played them all.
liquid_sky #5 Posted December 21, 2001 Enduro all the way.. the night and snow effects blew me away. Gran Prix was more of a steering game than anything.
MattyXB #6 Posted December 21, 2001 I love Enduro and Indy 500. Indy 500 is for 2 Players a great game.
Ze_ro #7 Posted December 21, 2001 Enduro is #1 in my opinion... though Pole Position is also very well done. Night Driver had good controls, what with the paddle and all (I still don't see why people don't like Night Driver more). Fatal Run also deserves a mention... although it's PAL only as far as I know. Grand Prix isn't so bad, but it's nowhere near as fun as the rest... and Street Racer is pretty nasty in comparison as well. --Zero
tomyou #8 Posted December 21, 2001 Enduro ruled when it came out I played for hours on end. Never did like pole position very much for some reason, same said for Granp Prix. Indy 500 was a fun 2 player game

Paul Slocum #10 Posted December 22, 2001 I think Dodge 'Em is the best. It's a great game, and the most realistic. -Paul
moycon #11 Posted December 22, 2001 Yes I agree with Dodge Em being realistic. Here in GA, a few years back it was common for idiots to get on the freeway going the wrong frickin way.
memorymoog #12 Posted December 22, 2001 Which title wins for best racing game? enduro, indy 500, pole position? i dont know, casue ive only got pole position and grand prix, the latter being a horrible game.
moycon #13 Posted December 22, 2001 I think my favorite on the Atari 2600 is Enduro. When it came out back in the day I thought it was cool as hell the way it would rain and snow and get dark...very cool.

Spector #15 Posted December 22, 2001 Enduro is best by a mile of the ones I've played. The only driving game I've played where you can't go at max speed, because it's too fast. When you are trying to get past 40 cars in the last few seconds and you are at top speed, it's so fast that it's the driving equivalent of going through the stargate in 2001. I've never played Fatal Run. I need to Cuttle it.
