How can you tell if a ROM is PAL?

Many (all?) emulators will run any ROM on a computer be it PAL or NTSC (at least that's my experience.) I have some ROMs I think are PAL... how can I find out if my suspicion is correct?

Try it on a Cuttle Cart or Krok Cart and see if rolls or has weird colors.

I think on a couple emulators you can hit some key and it will list the screen rate and you can usually tell that way too.

That's my problem! I've got a ROM and it gives me screwy bars on the CC2... Almost like I'm using the wrong banking mode. I thought maybe it was a PAL game, but this particular ROM only has one banking mode.

 

I just ran Good2600 on all my ROMs and the one in question didn't come up PAL... Hmmm...

Load it in Z26 and hit the minus key once. This key cycles between NTSC, PAL, and SECAM palettes.
