MyIDE and large copy - ATOS

Recommended Posts

Ok,

I got the latest ATOS files and tried to install them - however I ran into an issue trying to get them on my HD....

I tried copying the atos.arc file from a mounted image in APE - it copied alot of sectors but then went into lala land (I just saw the rainbow effect for MyIDE activity and every so often a 1 sector read beep) - Trying to delete this 0 bytes file which was interrupted resulted in another protracted rainbow effect.........

I tried copying the .arc files individually with no luck..........

I was abe to copy a whole slew of .EXE files onto my HD without issue - but this has me stumped........The reported sectors for the atos.arc do not look correct.

Any ideas?

Also,

I gooted ATOS from the .atr image and couldnt do anyhing - is the cursor controlled by the joystick? Port 2?

And finally,

Can I run the .ROM and .BIN files from my 130XE directly or will these only work under emu?

I had something like this happen to me. I ran a program called CLEANUP from the ATOS UTT directory, which purported to fix some directory entires. I then recopied the files from the ATOS.atr.

Yes, it defaults to an Atari ST mouse on port 2. There are drivers for joystick, ST mouse, Amiga mouse and trackball. The ST mouse is the best option since there are some external utilities (not the main GUI) that ONLY seem to use the ST mouse.

These are cartridge images usually and they cannot be run from a real Atari 8-bit (without some major work.)
