joeybastard #26 Posted February 17, 2005 This is the third time they've announced a home port of STUN Runner. It's one of my all-time favorites, and I'm starting to get a little upset that they've announced it yet again. I'm not holding my breath. As far as the GBA Konami cart goes, those were not NES ports, but they did mess up the music in Frogger. BTW, if you use the "Konami code" you get enhanced graphics.... What's the code again so I can write it down? I can never rememeber it.
+FujiSkunk #27 Posted February 17, 2005 I'd rather wait. They said that some of the games on MAT2 were ports, but I'm pretty sure they were emulated. Were there any ports? Straight from the horse's mouth: Not all those games can be emulated on the PS2. It's not powerful enough. Pit Fighter wasn't an emulation. So, at least one game wasn't emulated, and I'm willing to bet the majority of them weren't.
PaulEMoz #28 Posted February 17, 2005 The GBA Konami Advanced gets a lot of play in my house. I play it on the Gamboy player thru my GC and use the Pelican real arcade stick. It's very well done and definitely not the NES versions. I stand corrected. Still, that's only six games. A mega-20-game Konami pack on the new consoles would outsell even MAT1, I reckon. And they've easily got more than enough for two or three volumes.

Gyruss started with an extra life and a set of new levels that, when cleared, gave you a permanent doubleshot. Rush'n Attack... made the sound, but I saw no diffrence. Scramble and Frogger were radically updated. Scramble even added ship choices. Yie-Ar Kung Fu... maybe I'm missing something, but I've never enjoyed it in the least. Flojomojo #31 Posted February 18, 2005 You know i think ill get the first one and pass all together on 3.It just blows my mind that you weren't even alive when these games came out. I'm going to follow you around and mock your youth on every thread where you post, ya know ...
pongstroid #32 Posted February 23, 2005 All I know is that this set better support force-feedback steering wheels! Can we get a comment from Jeff V on this? More than half the fun of the Atari-sourced racing games was the brilliant use of force feedback steering. Not correctly supporting say, the Logitech steering wheels, will just piss me off. To tell the truth, I half-expected to have the wheel supported in Hard Drivin' with MAT2 and was irritated when it wasn't.
Shannon #33 Posted February 27, 2005 The music in frogger is changed because of licensing reasons. Yeah I know, it sucks because the music made 80% of the game. I actually new how to play most of the frogger songs on the piano. :haha: Anyways for those doubters Rush and Hydro Thunder are good games. This is obviously a racing theme. But I seriously doubt they could emulate these guys. I'm expecting to see a port. Plus the rush titles were pretty big. Just look at the size of the .CHD files for these in mame! SumerNivek #34 Posted February 27, 2005 Anyone able to find MAT 1 on GameCube nowadays? I have it for XBox, but I wanted to get a copy for my brother who has a Cube. It seems that it has disappeared off the earth, as EB and GameStop don't list it and Midway's website doesn't have it on there either...only for the XBox and PS2. What is up with that? What is up with that? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00...3712010-3902502 It could be because Midway recently changed the MAT1 box art to match MAT2.
