Merrick Bill #1 Posted February 20, 2005 Does anyone know where to get replacement controller inserts for the Intellivision? No one seems to have them anymore. Is this an item that would be worth remanufacturing? Bill
christianscott27 #2 Posted February 20, 2005 i dont think theres enough to demand to justify the cost of a proper materials reprinting. most intv games are found boxed so its not quite like the vectrex overlay issue. you could probably find them scanned online then just print your own on a suitable stock. i've got a good set of overlay doubles, never really thought about trading or selling them. Merrick Bill #3 Posted February 20, 2005 I'm not talking about the game overlays. I'm talking about the piece that goes inside each controller. They tend to go bad over time, making the controller useless. I thought if they were re-manufactured a lot of intellivisions would be good working games again. christianscott27 #4 Posted February 20, 2005 d'oh! you mean the membrance circuit board under the disc and number pad? i know 4jays sells refurbed controllers for about $20. my work around is to stick with the intellivision II model, i've got 3 so i can swap out the bad controllers. Merrick Bill #5 Posted February 20, 2005 my work around is to stick with the intellivision II model, i've got 3 so i can swap out the bad controllers. That's one way to go, but 99% of the time it's just the insert that goes bad. The rest of the controller is still good. And I bet the inserts could be made and resold for a lot less than 20 bucks a pop. I mean, if you could sell a pair for under 10 or 15 bucks think of all the bad Intellivision consoles that would once again be usable. And every one of your replacement controllers could be restored to working order. I'd love to manufacture a batch of them but I don't have the electronic/manufacturing background. If there's somone out there who does, maybe we can figure something out. Bill
Merrick Bill #6 Posted February 24, 2005 anyone around here have any manufacturing experience? I think there'd be a demand for these Intellivision Controller repair kits. Bill
intvgene #7 Posted February 24, 2005 I'm not sure if this helps or not, but there was a discussion about fixing the Intellivision controller mpcb's. Here it is: http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28760&
Merrick Bill #8 Posted February 24, 2005 Intvgene, Thanks for the tip. I may try that on my non working controller. But I still think there is a market for brand new inserts. Bill

Do they sell refurbished controllers for the original Intellivision? I'd like to buy some if they did...
