Spectravideo cart problems...

Recommended Posts

Okay this is going to sound pretty odd... I just dusted off my three Spectravideo carts in my collection (Tapeworm, Planet Patrol, & Nexar) along with Demolition Herby (because I wanted to see how I'd stack up in the hi-score round this week; I don't want to talk about that  I _suck_ )

Anyway, all three of my spectravideo carts were real persnikity about firing up. Tapeworm seems the most stable, Planet Patrol gets hosed up on my 2600jr, but worked okay on my heavy-6 :? Nexar is dead. Real DEAD. After cleaning, re-cleaning, and re-re-cleaning the contacts and trying it in the picky jr, heavy 6 and 7800 it was very dead. So now I think I need a replacement Nexar and I'm worried about my other two working carts. These came straight from my childhood so it's not like it was a barnyard special here. It's got me rather frustrated and I'm focusing on it way too much. Nexar wasn't that great a game.

Now I am feeling rushed to check out my other hard to replace games. (some Parker Bros., Cosmic Swarm, the Supercharger, and Malagai :( )

Demolition Herby fired up on the first crack. As did my entire US games collection.

Thoughts? ideas? an extra Nexar cart? :-/

Hex.
