sku_u #26 Posted February 24, 2005 BTW with all this talk about rare NES games, the bottom line is that you can get all but maybe 4 or 5 NES titles CIB for well under $200. Most are under $100 which makes the NES a great system to collect for. These titles will get more expensive as time passes.

JerseyDevil #29 Posted February 24, 2005 Stadium Events was only sold through Woolworths. I was hoping that when Woolworths went out of business, someone would find a warehouse full of these, but they must have destroyed the unsold stock. I remember seeing shelves of Stadium Events in the Woolworth store by my house when it came out. I just re-read my post and realized it was not Stadium Events I was thinking about. Wasn't Stadium Events pulled because it was exactly like another Nintendo game? Does anybody remember what game was sold exclusively at Woolworths, that I mixed up with SE? jeepnut24 #30 Posted February 24, 2005 I think the reason that these games are so rare is because they weren't "readily avialable" to most people. By that logic, Stadium Events shouldn't count as an official release for anyone living outside of New York State. We had a woolworths in PA also?? MattG/Snyper2099 #31 Posted February 24, 2005 Cheethamen II is rare, but easy to come by if you look around. So is Maxi 15 and the other AVE games on your list. There's a difference between rarity and availability. You could be searching the wild hardcore for 20 years and never see an ADE or any of the Aladdin games. Yet if you've got approx. $80, you can buy one just about any day of the week on eBay. I'm surprised people even group this game in with "normal" games since it wasn't readily available to anyone really. It may as well be a prototype. I think the reason that these games are so rare is because they weren't "readily avialable" to most people. By that logic, Stadium Events shouldn't count as an official release for anyone living outside of New York State. Here's my opinion of the rarest licensed retail releases (not to be confused with availability): -Stack Up (if complete) -Flinstones Surprise... -Stadium Events -Bonk's Adventure Don't forget Little Samson... hella rare. Dr. Morbis #32 Posted February 25, 2005 Don't forget Little Samson... hella rare. ...and hella fun! BTW with all this talk about rare NES games, the bottom line is that you can get all but maybe 4 or 5 NES titles CIB for well under $200. Most are under $100 which makes the NES a great system to collect for. These titles will get more expensive as time passes. I totally agree. I just think its funny (or maybe ironic?) that some of the toughest NES games to find in "the wild" are some of the easiest games to find online (providing you've got the cash). Concerning the Aladdin games, obviously someone has a warehouse full of them or they wouldn't be continuously for sale on eBay from the same person. But even if the guy had 5000 sets, that number is considerably lower than most retail print runs. Granted, a large percentage of games sold to the public are 'lost' over time, but when you get into print runs under 10,000, for a North American population of 300 million, that's a relatively small run. NovaXpress #33 Posted February 25, 2005 Tha Aladdin games were sold on QVC way back when so maybe there was a little stash left over. Tengen Tetris is legendary because it was selling used for $100 only months after its release. The owner of a local video store was begging for my copy. That's the only game I can think of which increased in value so quickly. Cheetahmen 2 is the worst game ever made.

Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak is actually Flintstones 2. If you saw two of these, buy them both, they sell for $60-$90 on E-Bay for the cart only. Flintstones 1 is pretty common, but is a fun game.
