F/A: MODDED ColecoVision A/V Outputs New BIOS & Accessor

Recommended Posts

In case anyone here was still thinking about getting one of these little beauties, my real job finally allowd me some time to get one modded up. It has gold-plated A/V output jacks, the "Intro Skip" BIOS upgrade, and comes with all the necessary accessories including a power adapter, gold-plated RCA cords, 5 games, and instruction manuals for everything. Thanks for looking.

Doubledown, you do a spectacular job on those CV mods. I'm always impressed. Do you ever sell the intor skip bios by itself? I'd love to have that feature on my CV.

You have some closeups of the inside work so I can see if it will last?

The inside work of what? The BIOS chip and jumpers install, RCA jacks, or the A/V output circuit?

Holy cow :!:

Congratulations, $198.

Thanks. Well this is the 20th ColecoVision console that I've modded. I gave 1 away in a contest, I've sold 6 outright (not through Ebay), modded 4 customer consoles, and auctioned 9 through Ebay. So far I've only had one sell on Ebay for less than $200.00. I never could figure that one out, and a couple of months later the guy re-sold it on Ebay. I think he told me he needed the money. Thanks to all who have looked at and are bidding on my auction.

I think the reason for the high sale amount is due to the overwhelming failure rate of the ColecoVision consoles. I've got an Atari 2600 that I've had since I was a kid, I think it was either our 2nd or 3rd one, but neverthless, it's at least 18 years old and it still works fine. The ColecoVision is highly prone to on/off switch and cartride slot problems.

Colecovisions get so damn dirty that just cleaning the thing inside and out properly is worth that much. :D

$515.00 !!!!! :o

Congrats on a successful auction. You might want to consider quitting any other job you have and just mod CV's for a living :D

I love to mod and refurbish consoles, but I think that if I did it for a full time job I'd start to get real sick of it though. Now I work at my own pace, when I have time, or when I get an order through my website, but having to do it all day everday I think it would get old quick.
