The_Laird #1 Posted February 26, 2005 (edited) Now i have a complete 7800 collection (apart from Tank Command ) i have compiled a list of NTSC games and how they play on Pal Machines, especially useful for games never released on Pal format:- Touchdown Football Some colours flash but Playable. Loccy #6 Posted January 8, 2007 (edited) Double-arse. Turns out Dig-Dug and Food Fight don't work - being two I've just bought off e-bay. C'est la vie. What games WERE released in PAL format? Edited January 8, 2007 by Loccy
The_Laird #7 Posted January 8, 2007 (edited) All games except the following were released in Pal: Winter Games Summer Games Robotron 2084 Water Ski Tank Command Rampage Touchdown Football And I think that is it, only Robotron out of those dosn't work at all on a Pal 7800. Mayhem #8 Posted January 8, 2007 Super Skateboarding has a HES PAL release I believe, though I own the NTSC version. Add to that list of not available on PAL - Rampage and Touchdown Football. I think all the other third party titles got a HES/Salu PAL release of some sorts.
Schmutzpuppe #9 Posted January 8, 2007 I wonder why companies didn't make multi regional games. It is a bit more work but they just had to make one type of cartridge. I guess it would have been cheaper for them in a long term.

Mayhem #11 Posted January 9, 2007 Once I move I can unpack all my 7800 stuff and figure out what NTSC/PAL versions I still need and test everything out to see what works on each machine.
keitaro #12 Posted January 21, 2007 (edited) Hi, pole position II: same as Joust, graphic glitches on bottom Tower Toppler: graphic glitches on bottom, and tower graphics corrupted (I don´t know is for use a NTSC cart, or maybe is the rom code corrupted) Ballblazer: starts ok, (but with graphic glitches on bottom), and hangs when game start. bad news to see Robotron don´t work in PAL machines, It was on my 7800 wanted list Edited January 21, 2007 by keitaro
kenfused #13 Posted January 21, 2007 (edited) Is there a list of 7800 NTSC carts that do not have PAL version and that on a PAL system the NTSC versions: (1) don't work or unplayaable (2) work but serious graphics problems (3) work with minor graphic glitches at the bottom. +Mitch #15 Posted January 22, 2007 Summer Games had PAL release (as I bought mine at Makro UK) For the 2600 version yes, for the 7800 version no. Mitch
thomasholzer #16 Posted January 23, 2007 (edited) Just tested mine, you're right (I wonder how many NTSC titles they sold as it came as a 'pack of five', all sealed). Edited January 23, 2007 by thomasholzer
Chris-in-NJ #17 Posted January 24, 2007 I wonder why companies didn't make multi regional games. It is a bit more work but they just had to make one type of cartridge. I guess it would have been cheaper for them in a long term. I've read that Colecovision carts are "multi-region" and play on all Coleco consoles worldwide. I've never owned a Colecovision so can't comment on the veracity of this statement.

mamejay #23 Posted February 4, 2011 More games now tested on a PAL system Hat Trick = Colours all wrong but playable Choplifter = Will not start On-on-One = Colours wrong but playable Karateka = Plays but not sure. Joystick repsonse seems really slow. Maybe this is how the 7800 is. Xevious = Playable. Graphics glitch at bottom of the screen
+GroovyBee #24 Posted February 4, 2011 Karateka = Plays but not sure. Joystick repsonse seems really slow. Maybe this is how the 7800 is. Don;t worry, the response is poor in PAL too.
