Need some help in Medievil 2

I think I'm at the final stage, I'm armed with the gattling gun and the prof just sent Dan to Cathedral Spires to track down Palethorn once and for all. Problem is I can't get anywhere since my life is so bloody low from the last boss fight...

Any tips on a quick and effective way to regain health? Life fountains do not reappear in the stages like they did in Medievil 1...

Anyone got a fix? If not, I'm giving up I swear it.
