Boxed ADAM system (n/w) for 10 bucks!

Thats right! This huge inoperative behemoth can be yours for only 10 bucks. Its Cassidy's "we're moving" sale. Seriously. Its been in my classroom closet forever, and they are tearing down the school.

 

Basically, its not worth shipping. If you want it, lmk. I can bring it home with me but you have to figure out the rest.

 

System is complete and was working a few years ago. All stuff is there, including some of the inner box materials. Its not a bad system, but I could only get a black screen on the TV.

 

Anyway, lmk if you want this thing. I would hate to Goodwill it, but may have to go that route.

I'd love to find one of these locally someday as they're always too much to ship. It's like sending someone a three-piece elephant (especially that printer/power supply).

 

Worst case: you can sell/trade the parts (controllers, cartridges, keyboard, etc.).

You could also sell and ship it sans printer if someone can make their own hack power supply. +12V, -12V, +5V, and -12V to certain pins of the printer/power port oughta do it (see Section 6 of the ADAM technical manual).

Now those are some good options. Anybody want any of the parts out of it? Maybe throw some bucks at me via paypal, and we can get it all apart? How do you ship something that large, even if its empty?

If you can open 'er up, try cleaning the power switch with contact cleaner. On the ColecoVision the switch has to make a discernable "click" when turning on and has to be clean for the console to work well...I assume the ADAM is the same way.

 

It it works I may be interested in it sans printer and box (I'll just put it on my shelf with my other goodies) but with the printer cable (I'll hack a power supply). Of course if it works...you may just want to keep it and give the box to Xot.
