War of the Worlds and Hacking Tips

I just made a hack of Defender titled, War of the Worlds. Isnt too much to get excited over, but its pretty neat. I sent it to Hozer to see if they will accept it, and I sent a .bin of it to the atariage editor. I hope they like it. I was also wondering if anyone had any usefull hacking tips, along with a question I have. When hacking defender, I tried to change the ship the player flies into a helecopter, but the lines I used to do it with made very long lines that ran up the screen and where a real pain, is there a way to make a helecopter shape in that game and not get those lines?

yep, your sprite is too high at the top and too low at the bottom. make it shorter, if you cant, your stuck. first try with the too high then try with the too low then both if one of them doesn't fix it ive not a clue then
