+kisrael #28 Posted March 7, 2005 Turok for GameCube....oh man, I was SO hungry for a halfway decent FPS Deathmatch. The 1 Player mode was so bad and the multiplayer wasnt good either. For his birthday I was letting my younger cousin pick the video game of his choice, and when he started dithering and taking way too long I threatened him with "If you don't choose soon YOU'RE GETTING TUROK!!!" "WDL: Thundertanks" was another huge disapointment for PS2. I loved BattleTanx and its sequel on N64, but this game (by the same people) just lost it...and it was why I got a PS2 at the time! Half-why...luckily GTA:VC made up for it. As far as I can tell, there hasn't been a decent Tank Game out since BattleTanx: Global Assault. Anyone beg to differ? FWIW, I thought Conker's BFD was a very good game...decent platformer, ok cut scenes (though with some terrible voice acting), fun mini-games, great music, and me and my cousins loved "Beach"..."Capture the Flag" was marred by how the Teddis could survive any fall with no damage, which was a big advantage, with as far as I could tell no balancing advantage for the squirrels. +kisrael #29 Posted March 7, 2005 Oh, and Clone Wars turned out to be decent, actually, I see it there on someone's "shame" list...the first level was dumb, but after a while it proved to have some good vehicle combat.
BydoEmpire #30 Posted March 7, 2005 I thought Sword of Sodan on the Amiga was awesome. Was the Genny port that bad? The music on the Amiga version was really cool. Also, I like Ghost House a lot. Probably my favorite SMS Card game. Worst game I have is Scorpion King for Gamecube. I got it really cheap in a 2 game pack w/ NBA Street, so I sort of feel like I got it free. But I'm not ashamed to have it at all. Just one more game in the collection..
bradjewell #31 Posted March 7, 2005 You think unreal tournement is a turd but revolution x was kinda fun? dont ask man.. I dont understand it either... ;oP i dunno, I just hated Unreal tournament on XBOX and got rid of it in trade... I didnt like controls, gameplay or anything.... and Im a FPS fan from way back.. And at the time I enjoyed revolution x, it was mindless shooting fun. I also liked Wirehead on the Sega CD.. and Im suprised I have seen that on anyones list. n8littlefield #32 Posted March 7, 2005 Probably the worst game currently in my collection would be Knight Rider on the NES. It was a situation of buy 2 get 1 free and it was pretty much all they had that I hadn't already played. I'm probably going to keep it, but since I'm trying to build up a collection that's based on good quality, it may be kept in storage
awsomo3000 #33 Posted March 8, 2005 this question brings up a story one time i went to a video game store and they wanted to get rid of some of there snes games so they were all dirt cheap.I thought " o a good chance to add to my collection. i decided to take a gamble so i got a bunch of games i never heard of, maybe theyll be good.I spent 5$ for about six games, THEY ALL SUCKED PAUL BUNYANS GIANT LAMBERJACK BALLS! heres a few of them lester the unlikely zoop sim ant last time i buy a game without a little backround on them, defintly brings my collection to shame
Jess Ragan #34 Posted March 8, 2005 Dark Castle for the Genesis. I'll forever be mystified by the game's popularity on the Macintosh... if it's anything at all like the Genesis game, it deserves absolutely none of the accolades and praise it's been given by Mac fans. Fortunately, the only place you'll find the game these days is in the darkest corner of a torture chamber. JR
Atariman #35 Posted March 8, 2005 Only two come to mind right away - Sneak 'n Peek - Atari 2600 And Lawnmower Man - SegaCD Sneak 'n Peek is a gaming experience that is probably similar to getting beaten to death with a moldy grapefruit. To play through a whole game, you realized exactly what was happening the whole time... and it hurt. It's a game about hide and seek... and there are only like, two places to hide... Lawnmower man - This is more like getting beaten to death with half of a buick. It was quick and I never realized what happened. The only enjoyment I got from this game was when I lost without even realizing I was playing - my friend and I had a good laugh.

Emehr #37 Posted March 8, 2005 Dark Castle for the Genesis. I'll forever be mystified by the game's popularity on the Macintosh... if it's anything at all like the Genesis game, it deserves absolutely none of the accolades and praise it's been given by Mac fans. I bought this game back in the day primarily because of an EA Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal, played it, and returned it. This was before I ever used a Mac, BTW: circa 1991 or so. I hated the control and the way the guy spun around for what seemed like 15 minutes when he was dizzy. In recent years, however, I discovered that in the Mac version you aim with the mouse. I'm sure that makes a big difference in the game play experience. As for games that shame my collection...hmm. I only collect to play so I try to avoid crap games but sometimes you see a deal and it's something you've never played and are curious about... 2600 - James Bond 007 (this is Bond? WTF?) 7800 - Dark Chambers (painfully unfun; yes I own Karateka) SNES - The Tick (repetitive, repetitive, repetitive) SegaCD - Panic! (not a game; random button pushing; sold it) - Jason
liveinabin #38 Posted March 8, 2005 Street Fighter The Movie for the Sega Saturn. It was only a game for 2 days, then it was a coaster, then it was a frisbee, then it was snapped in half and thrown away. Says a lot about a game when I don't even want to balance my coffee on it
Cassidy Nolen #39 Posted March 8, 2005 Just remember we are all entitled to our opinions.....ducks all Jag fans comments... Pretty much everything I ever tried on Jag was a steaming pile of dung. I tried the motorcycle game, it was awful. The Checkered flag game was put to shame by Pole Position an entire decade before!!! Kasumi Ninja should have come with a bag to hold all its suck. Cybermorph has to be the pile to end all piles. It actually smells across the room. Seriously. "Where'd you learn to fly" should have been the system's slogan, cuz when you done, chuck the system out the window! TG-16: JJ and Jeff really blows 3D0: Too many stinkers to list GC: Mario Sunshine (still too new to be a classic, but never too young to be a turd!) PS2: Corvette (man, what a letdown! I am a vette nut, and this does not even hold my attention. I'd rather trade my G1 Transformers for Go-Bots than play that one!) Cassidy

Room 34 #44 Posted March 8, 2005 7800 - Dark Chambers (painfully unfun; yes I own Karateka) I was going to post here just to say 2600 Pac-Man isn't THAT bad, but I saw this reply and just had to comment! Anyway... The worst game in my collection is, without a doubt, Dishaster for the 2600. God I hate it!!!! But I just have to keep it, because it IS a game I actually played a few times "back in the day" (my main criterion now for whether or not I keep a 2600 game in my collection), but also to remind myself just how bad things can get. (And so I never buy a copy of Skeet Shoot!)

My first thought when I read Jess's post was "I'll bet that game does stink without mouse control". Dude, you have NO idea. To aim rocks at enemies, you have to push a button to tuuuuuurn the hero's arm in place. It's worse than the early Resident Evil games. In fact, it's worse than anything ever created, short of razor blade enemas and ethnic cleansing. JR

n8littlefield #49 Posted March 8, 2005 As a random side note, until I saw those pictures of all the systems together, I really had no idea just how much smaller the top load NES was. I think I need to hunt one down this summer, it's swanky (and yes, I know, pricey as well).
