joeybastard #1 Posted March 9, 2005 Has anybody played this game? I saw it really cheap and I've read mixed reviews of it. From the reviews it's hard to get an idean of what this game actually is. Is it a turn based strategy game or reflex-a-thon ala Dragon's Lair?
goatdan #2 Posted March 9, 2005 Turn based strategy. Recently, I had a binge of "buy really cheap games that I've been interested in" because EB was running a trade in two non-sports titles and get an extra $10.00 of in-store credit. So I bought a whole bunch of games that were $5.00 or less and figured that the ones I liked, I would keep and the ones that I thought were so-so, I would return (along with the others that I had). During this time, I bought Future Tactics new from GameStop for $5.00 new because it looked interesting and I figured that when it sucked (the last game I bought this cheap was Drake...), I could trade it in. I'm keeping it. I'm actually rather impressed by it. Very simple gameplay, kinda slow, but an interesting turn-based strategy title none the less. I really enjoy it, and for $5.00 new even if you don't, you can always take it to EB during their next sale and get $5.00 of in-store credit for it
goatdan #3 Posted March 9, 2005 Ah, I just realized this was for the GameCube version. I have the Xbox version. I would assume they are the same, but I haven't ever seen the GameCube version to know what the price is...
joeybastard #4 Posted March 9, 2005 I think it was $4.99 but that's what actually made me stop. Brand new current gen game for $5 usually means a real turd. It looks like fun so I'll probably pick it up.
sega saturn x #5 Posted March 9, 2005 Th emost i have seen it for was 10$ on any system i saw x-plays review on it and it looked likr i had potential. But as a side note the voice acting was house of the dead quality meaning i couldent stop chuckling at it.
joeybastard #6 Posted March 9, 2005 I actually enjoy crappy voice acting more than good in games so that's not a concern to me.
Cousin Vinnie #7 Posted March 22, 2005 I think Future Tactics is a really fun game. It's not polished, or anything.... but it combines turn-based gameplay and skill quite well. It's a bargain at that price for a once through Cousin Vinnie
