How Much would you pay for every Virtual Boy Game?

Recommended Posts

Bowling and Gundam get more than $1,000 by themselves EACH !

Good Lord. I have been interested in getting a virtual boy and when at least know I will not be hell bent and getting a complete collection of games. I'll shoot for most if not all of the US releases and a couple of cheaper Japanese ones and call it a day.

I've actually seen them go for about $600-700...but still. The VB rarities are a spendy lot. Virtual Lab and Virtual Space Invaders are the other two biggies.

I thought Waterworld was the expensive one.. only because I remember seeing at the store and it was the only one not marked down. Hmm

Bowling is worth $1000? Wasn;t this a North American release? I thought I had Bowling? Hmm. :ponder:

No matter.. I won't be playing it anytime soon. I was thinking of a way of building a head strap thing for it so I could lie down and play it... never got around to it though.

Waterworld, though the rarest US release (Jack Bros. is also scarce) is fairly common compared to the rare Japanese releases.

You're thinking of Nester's Funky Bowling, a US release that's fairly uncommon. Virtual Bowling is a seperate Japanese game that's ultra-rare.

Ahh yes.. Nester Bowling. That's the one.. figures that the Japanese had some rare obscure titles for it. It must not have died as fast over there. I got mine when it was $30 Canadian and the games were $5 each. Got most of em except Waterworld.

What kills me is, I remember reading a Gamefan Magazine, and they reported that Waterworld was going to come out for a bunch of consoles, including the Virtual Boy and the Jaguar. I always thought that the Jag version was more likely to ever come out. The Virtual Boy would die long before that version would make it to market. It looks like I had things backward, the VB game came out, and the Jag version probably never got started. :(

Ugh... A Jaguar version of Waterworld would have been like throwing salt on an open wound! :ponder:
