AlexKIDD #1 Posted March 21, 2005 Is there any place in this game that tells you how many hours you have been playing? I remember there being one but now I cant seem to find it.
adams_ale #2 Posted March 21, 2005 If it does show the hours played it would be on the character menu screen. It's been a long time since I've played this game so I can't accurately recall whether it gave this info or not. It seems like most SNES rpgs gave the time spent playing. Great game by the way; suppose you have already played the other notable SNES rpgs, correct?
AlexKIDD #3 Posted March 21, 2005 I've played FF6 and Super Mario rpg but that's about it, I want chrono trigger but I cant find one under $
Bruce Tomlin #4 Posted March 21, 2005 I'm playing CT on DreamSNES lately. Maybe Mana can be next. If I ever find them for sale at a reasonable price, I'll pick them up (as I have kind of "officially" started to collect for SNES), but I'm not going to let that get in the way of playing the game. So the music is a bit slow, but for RPGs you don't really need 100% emulation speed.
adams_ale #5 Posted March 21, 2005 Chrono Trigger is a must own rpg for the SNES. I give my highest suggestion that you start saving up for it. It's easily worth the high price.
Bruce Tomlin #6 Posted March 21, 2005 IMHO, not for something which DPG rates as a rarity of 2, over two dozen are for sale on ebay right now, and I'm already 40% through playing it on an emulator. I can wait.
wrldstrman #7 Posted March 21, 2005 rarity a lot of times has nothing to do with the price..if its a good game thats fun to play the price is usally always higher.

Good point, in this case Chrono Trigger is arguably the best rpg on the SNES along with Final Fantasy III(U.S.). Agreed, that Chrono Trigger should not be called rare. Bruce Tomlin #9 Posted March 21, 2005 It's pretty good yes, but it's an RPG and it ENDS. Once you've finished it, you've freaking finished it. The only reason the prices are so high is all the people having retrogasms about SNES and Squaresoft.

It's actually COME DOWN in price since FFChronicles came out. It's an incredibly nice looking and sounding game. And has a fair bit of replay value, too. It does have around 13 different endings so the replay value is exstensive. What happens when you beat most games of any genre? You receive the same ending regardless and yet there is no complaint. Nor should there be with this particular rpg. Chrono Trigger is non-linear, has a multitude of endings, and is thoroughly enjoyable. Point being it's still better than a large chunk of the rehashed crap put out today and its worth the dough.
