bergbros #1 Posted January 13, 2002 I played BMX Airmaster on Stella and I was floored on how good this game was. The graphics and gameplay are excellent and I was especially intrigued by the sophisticated scoring which awards new tricks and awards less repetitive tricks. It reminded me of the arcade game 720, the Skate or Die! Skateboarding game with the different moves and multiple events. I would put it up there with the best on the 2600 even better than Ms. Pac Man. And I'm not even a BMX fan. Unfortunately, the cart is extremely rare. I tried EBAY but it wasn't there. Anyone point me in the right direction?
Tempest #2 Posted January 13, 2002 The Atari red labeled re-release is incredibly rare, but the regular TNT white label version is only uncommon. Just keep looking on ebay for it, it shouldnt run you more than $15. Tempest
StanJr #3 Posted January 14, 2002 Yes, BMX Airmaster is rather good. I found the TNT white label one MIB at a flea market. Its out there, but is truly uncommon. Its even more fun to play on the real VCS. And I'm not a BMX guy either, but the game is really good. Wanna know more? Atarinvader #4 Posted January 14, 2002 BMX Airmasters is quite simply THE best 2600 game ever. It can pee all over Ms. Pac Man and all the Swordquest games put together! It was a bit tricky for me to find as I don't think it was released in the UK(?), Ive got an NTSC version. Oh BTW Russ are you going to print my review of it? Just that I found the review and reread it, I'd like to redo the whole thing.
slapdash #5 Posted January 15, 2002 I'm sure I'll print it eventually... So you've probably got time to re-write it a bit if you want, no problem.
moycon #6 Posted January 15, 2002 quoteIt can pee all over Ms. Pac Man and all the Swordquest games put together! Peein all over SwordQuest??? Is that supposed to mean its good?? ET pees all over SwordQuest. Combat pees all over SwordQuest. Hell the only 2 games that don't pee on SwordQuest are Skeetshoot and LaserBlast. Can you tell I hate SwordQuest? MattG/Snyper2099 #7 Posted January 15, 2002 Yup, BMX Airmaster is one of my favorites for the 2600. It so happens I *DO* ride aggresively (as I can) when it comes to BMX. I prefer to ride flatland. That was really why I bought it at the time. It really does shine on the VCS! It was also one of my first really good Flea market finds, at the time, for $4, I beieve. It was about four years back. Best four bucks I ever spent. Anyone help me out with the Atari Red Label version for under $100? Kudos
