Stingray #4 Posted March 30, 2005 Is the guy on the left playing Rally X? Tempest That's what it looks liike to me. Is there a classic complilation available? I expect it's only a amatter of time before there's a MAME version available for it, once that happens I'll probably have to pick one up regardless of the fact that they're too expensive. -S
Gabriel #5 Posted March 30, 2005 Is the guy on the left playing Rally X? Tempest New Rally X It's included on the Ridge Racer disc.
+Random Terrain #6 Posted March 30, 2005 For those who don't know, Rally-X will also be one of the games in the Namco Museum for PSP: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=63481 The new 3D Rally-X looks great!
joeybastard #7 Posted March 30, 2005 Doesn't the guy playing Rally X kind of kill the joke though? Don't get me wrong, I'd rather play Rally X than Ridge Racer but if you're going for the joke about how much more powerful the PSP is, playing a 20 year old game that the DS could do easily too doesn't make the joke. Of course anybody bothering to waste their time posing this pitiful attempt at humor doesn't understand what's funny anyway.
128bytes #8 Posted March 30, 2005 Yeah, not really funny. Of course, the coolest guys are outside playing their GBA's in the sunshine, link cables and all It would have made a better point if the other guys with PSP's were playing multiplayer wireless games and the Nintendo DS guy couldn't join into that. The DS can have "revenge" if it beats the PSP to become the first handheld to have wireless multiplayer internet gaming (as is anticipated) -- if the DS guy was in wifi range, it wouldn't matter if he was the only one there without a PSP. Hate to say it, but the PSP already has wireless internet gaming. Infrastructure mode. And I thought it was funny Joey so I could care less if you thought I wasted my time. Luckily Humor is relative. sega saturn x #10 Posted March 30, 2005 Yeah really though you act as if the ds is getting beat in to the ground. Its not in fact the psp launch was a what i would call a dud.

No Im not, I just thought the picture was humorus. Id hardly say the PSP launch was a huge success. If anything, the DS had a better launch. Just a funny picture is all. MacGurl #12 Posted March 30, 2005 I dunno....the screen on the PSP does make the useless dual screens on the DS look pretty pitiful.
sega saturn x #13 Posted March 30, 2005 Where did you find this pic any way? And remind me again why the 2 screens are useless?
jeepnut24 #14 Posted March 30, 2005 Where did you find this pic any way? And remind me again why the 2 screens are useless? Another forum. I never stated that two screens are useless. Just a gimmick until they prove that they can be used well.
maibock #15 Posted March 30, 2005 Oh lighten up guys - it is funny. It's ok to laugh at the joke and still enjoy your DS or Nintendo. Really, it's ok!
Stingray #16 Posted March 30, 2005 Although I don't own either (yet) I'll probably own both eventually, and I thought the picture was kind of funny. -S

I'm not trying to be sarcastic, and I'm not tech savey so I may be missing a fine distinction here, but hasn't the N-Gage had wireless multiplayer gaming for a nice while now. I mean you can play Pocket Kingdoms and Pathway to Glory against people in other countries on it, that seems like wireless online gaming to me.

Atarifever #20 Posted March 30, 2005 I'd like to see a picture of the DS guy still having money for groceries while the PSP guys try to eat Ridge Racer.
jeepnut24 #21 Posted March 30, 2005 I'd like to see a picture of the DS guy still having money for groceries while the PSP guys try to eat Ridge Racer. That and the picture where the PSPs battery has died while the DS continues. And yes, the Ngage had wireless internet gaming. I was just correcting the comparison between the PSP and the DS. Last I heard, the 10 people who own that thing are spread across the globe. It's hard to get them all in the same room, so they've got to stay connected through wireless if they want to play each other
