jeepnut24 #3 Posted March 31, 2005 Exploits then, but still more or less hacks considering neither were intended. Technicalities...

Jasoco #5 Posted April 1, 2005 I would love to be able to sync my calendar and contacts to my PSP. I can have them on my iPod, I'd much rather carry my PSP with me though. As for music, well, sadly I have 10GB of music. And well, there simply ain't a 10GB Memory Stick Duo. What am I to do? Nothing? Yeah, I guess. No music for me. As for this PocketMac stuff, does it put software on the PSP or just do the same thing I've been doing all along with iPSP or a regular USB connection, i.e. just copying the MP3's over? Because that's a rip-ff. So unless they created an application, a plug-in if you will, for the PSP that kind of added a new icon to the PSP menu that had a calendar, address book or an iTunes like MP3 playing interface, I don't see the big deal. As for the web browser, will Sony be making one available to users that don't have Wip3out?
Shannon #6 Posted April 5, 2005 What I'd like to know is if it is possible to point the wipeout browser to read pages off of the memcard. Something that could open up "some" possibilities.
+BoatofCar #7 Posted April 6, 2005 I have PSPWare, and the synching is much easier with that utility. It interacts directly with your iTunes playlists and your iPhoto albums, instead of having to dig through the finder for them. It also makes transferring movie clips over to your PSP a snap, and will automatically set the aspect ratio to optimize the PSP's screen. It was well worth the $15 I paid for it, but you can try it out for free.

Does it have a virtaul keybaord? Typing in messages back and forth would be slow as hell. Some of this sounds cool. Just not really practical. -Tim
Jasoco #12 Posted April 8, 2005 The PSP uses a "Cell-phone" type keyboard where you hit the same button over and over to choose a letter and case, then move to the next letter. It took getting used to, but I would much rather get one of those cool clear keyboards they had a while ago.

Kinda like the gp32 chatboard. -Tim
Jasoco #14 Posted April 8, 2005 Yes. It has a USB port. And yes. Companies do make USB keyboards for it.
jeepnut24 #15 Posted April 8, 2005 There are pictures of a mini keyboard floating around the net. I think its from japan. They are releasing an official browser also. I would imagine use of a USB keyboard will happen in the future also.
