Grover's Music Maker

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know how to 'play' this game? I have a little girl who loves playing the CCW Atari games and I was thinking of suprising her with GMM by having Hozer put it on a cart:

- is this game complete?

- has anybody made a "mock" label in the CCW fashion (yellow grid) for this game?

- has anybody made a "mock" overlay for this game?

Any help would be greatly appreciated (by me and my little girl)...

Thanks!

Sean Kelly and Joe Santulli have quite a few mock labels on their sites. I would check there before you go through the trouble of making one yourself, as they may have one already. Anything is possible.

Kudos :-)

i also have a little girl, but yet she's only playing pacman.

but it's a good idea .... get me some more informations about the game and about grover ... which one is grover? the caracter here has another name in germany i suppose, as i don't know who it is right now ...

i will make a label for it if you want ... i did some previously ... check out my submissions for the latest label contest for example ...

I've already made a label for this game. I'll post it here later. (I've got to get it off of the archive tape or disc. Not really sure where it is, but it shouldn't take long to find it.)

If someone wants to tell me the controls, I'll make an overlay image, as well.

The game is almost complete, but the tunes and letters only go up to T (who needs UVWXYZ anyway?). Other than thatI think it's all there. We don't know what a bunch of the tunes are though, if you figure them out let us know. I don't think anyone has made a mock label or overlay for it, but I'm sure someone could for you fairly easily.

Rhindle,

Thank you! That label is fantastic! You wouldn't happen to have one for Holey Moley, would ya??

moyocon - when I said I had a little girl, I meant "the little girl inside of me".. actually, using the "record" feature to make your own songs has some entertainment value...

Rhindle - here are the controls for GMM if you're still up for making the overlay: It's basically this: 1,2,..,9 and '*' are all musical keys (each assigned a color also). The '0' key is to Play your recorded song or one of the built-in songs. The '#' key is used to cycle through which song to play and recording mode (same as the SELECT switch on the console). The RESET switch puts the game into record mode also.

Thanks again!!!

The label looks great! I'm really looking forward to seeing the overlay.

Right now I'm playing around with making new versions of the overlays that will fit on the Keyboard Controllers.

Somewhere I have versions of the Sesame Street overlays made for the Video Touch Pad. I never bothered to make a template of the Keyboard Controllers as there isn't enough space for decent artwork.

I'll dig around for the VTP overlays, though, and post them here when I find them.

I beg to differ. The Keyboard Controllers *are* a little small, but overlays don't look that bad. Here are a couple draft versions that I hashed out today:

Those look great, but the problem I found was that the buttons on the keyboard controller stick up much more than on the Kid's Controller or Video Touch Pad, so you pretty much have to cut holes for all the buttons so the overlay stays in place.

Now, if I could mold plastic sheets (like the original Kid's overlays) I could make the button holes deeper, but that's not really an option.

Once I cut out the holes and added symbols around them to show what they did, it left little room for artwork.

Also, the small size made the art too hard to discern. (Of course, part of that is my printer, no doubt.)

Anyway, good luck. They look good so far.

Paint Shop Pro.

And if anyone is going to print this label, be sure to use the one in the .zip file, not the one pictured above. The one in the .zip is much larger and much clearer. The .zip also contains the end label image.

I'll see what I can do about the overlay this week. I'll post it here when it's done.

Thank you. I'll find out how they actually work after I get my new printer working. I plan on trying them on card stock first. My next choice would be laminated 24# paper. (Laminated AFTER printer, duh! ) I have my fingers crossed.

Are you sure? Can your provide URLs? I've been on Sean's site and found nothing, and I'm not aware of Joe having his own site (haven't checked out the nether regions of the DP site yet).
