I need an Atari "tophat" bezel for start switch

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have one of the plastic top-hats that go on the small Atari start switches?

Are you referring to the volcano/ cone buttons? They're usually pretty hard to come by, and are pretty expensive when you do find them. Someone was going to repro the cones at one point, but I don't know if anything ever came of that. A quick search of the BYOAC forum didn't turn anything up. Ebay would probably be your best bet to find them, but get your wallet ready. ;)

At one point, I had 1 or 2 at home mixed in with my pinball parts. I received them as part of a huge lot of spare parts. If I can locate them, consider them yours.

In the interim, you can probably improvise something if you went down the pen aisle at Staples and bought a click pen with a similar button on top.

After re-reading it seems that I misunderstood. If you're looking for the button, not the cone, I believe Radio Shack has one that will fit. You'll need to bring in your old one and dig through their stock, don't expect anyone who works there to be of any help.

Thanks. I know the LED switches are pricey, but what I need is just the threaded outer plastic ramped ring (I was hoping those were more common). I just need to finish putting a cp together so I can ship it.

I had a bunch of this stuff before I moved. :x

Okay so you are looking for the cones after all. A little more digging and I was able to find the site for the guy who is reproducing them.
