That80sGuy #1 Posted April 6, 2005 I have a 1942 that has barely audible sound. I can turn the volume up and down but you can't hear it unless you put your head up to the speaker. Anyone have any suggestions? I can't find any schematics for the boards. Thanks!
That80sGuy #3 Posted April 7, 2005 Hmm ... There is a finger size hole in the paper part of the speaker. But so I hooked up a known good speaker and the result is the same. Its like the sound output is not being amplified.
Bryan #4 Posted April 7, 2005 Sometimes there is a separate voltage output for the amplifier chip. Make sure all your voltages are good. -Bry
chadtower #5 Posted April 8, 2005 You should also check the volume potentiometer. If that's no good you aren't going to get predictable results. My best guess, though, is insufficient voltage out of the sound circuit someplace. You could be looking at a bad op amp in the audio portion of the PCB. That80sGuy #6 Posted April 18, 2005 Without schematics..does anyone know which chips are involved in the audio circuit?
