Trade-N-Games #1 Posted April 7, 2005 I was tired if hauling around all my portable systems over the last few weeks, messing with the cords and finding a good place for the games and I was just throwing them all in a bag. So today I took matters into my own hands! I got a nice metal brief case style tool box and some hot glue, razor blades, foam, power cord, tape and a few other things and threw this all together in about 5 hours. Ok first off this holds my PSP, DS and SP systems all nice and neat and safe. I have a power cord tucked in the right side under a removeable cover that all the systems cords plug into. Then each systems cord runs under and up to each system so that all 3 can be pluged at the same time and i never have to fuss with a cord. When I get home I will cut a small hole in the case so I can pass the main power plug threw it so the lid can close all the way. I made a nice snug fit place for each game to sit and they wont move around much. In the lid that opens it has a few places for pens my ear buds for each system some wipe rags and a bunch of other stuff. Then before I close it up there is a nice piece of Black egg crate foam that covers up the systems to hold them all tight. All in all its works perfect for me! So what does everyone think? SteveW #3 Posted April 7, 2005 Isn't that case kind of thick? I'd imagine that more of a laptop-size briefcase, something a little more slimline, might be better. Unless you tend to carry around a lot of other stuff that'll fill up a case that deep. I bought a case about that thickness years back to carry my Lynx stuff around, but I never really used it. I bought the case cheap, but after fooling around with it, I realised it was just too large and clunky for carrying a couple Lynx units around. I ended up getting a Lynx briefcase. Although it's a little cramped with two handhelds and around 50 carts, it gets the job done in less space.
jeepnut24 #4 Posted April 7, 2005 Kinda defeats the idea of a portable, but very sweet non the less.
sega saturn x #5 Posted April 7, 2005 Not great for carrying around with you but sweet for keeping it in your car so you can pull out a system before you go to work, school, topless bar what have you.
Atarifever #6 Posted April 7, 2005 Not great for carrying around with you but sweet for keeping it in your car so you can pull out a system before you go to work, school, topless bar what have you. Man, if I had a dollar for each time a trip to the topless bar was canceled because I couldn't adaquately store my handheld gaming stuff... so many wasted years, such a mispent youth. Anyway, I don't care if it is a little big, I think it is sweet. I have one of those man purse things for the gamegear, and it, with battery pack, rechargeable AA's + charger, 20 games and magnifier takes up nearly that much room. I might try to do something like that for my GameGear and N-Gage once my N-Gage collection gets large enough to warrent it.
Trade-N-Games #7 Posted April 7, 2005 It might be just a little to big but dont forget it has the entire power supply all laid under so no wires are having to be messed with. Just lay the systems in place plug them in and only 1 wire has to be pluged into the wall. I was really sick of hauling around all three systems at the same time in different cases so it serves its purpose perfect for me. Everything all in one place at the same time. The PSP games are just short enough to be flush when i place in the foam top layer. So really its just deep enough. behind the top part where the earbuds and stuff is, is some extra room for magazines and stuff when i travel.
Jess Ragan #8 Posted April 7, 2005 Slick! It's almost a shame to take those systems out of that case... they seem so comfortable in it. JR
Stingray #9 Posted April 7, 2005 So what does everyone think? I think that I wish I had all those handhelds. -S
Lord Helmet #10 Posted April 7, 2005 Nice idea. I think I might try something similar. It would make a great place to keep my handhelds stored.
Flojomojo #11 Posted April 12, 2005 Whoa. Big case. Better than "cargo pants" or "e-vests," though. Where do you you travel that you need to haul ALL the handhelds?
dgo #12 Posted April 12, 2005 Very nice job! You can take this into the office and everyone will think it has your notepad and papers and calculator and other useless office junk. Morning! ... Morning! Now you only need a way to keep people from peeking into your cubicle
