AlexKIDD #1 Posted April 8, 2005 How close do you have to be to a person with a psp to play wi-fi multiplayer? It may say this in the huge book that came with the system or the game manual but i've looked and I can't seem to find it. If it varies from game to game, the game i'm wondering about is untold legends.
Albert #2 Posted April 8, 2005 Good question, but I imagine as long as you're in the same room you're fine, since it uses 802.11b. If it was just Bluetooth, you'd probably need to be a bit closer. I've only used the wireless on the PSP in close proximity to other people, but next time I'll experiment and see if we can still play games when we're in separate rooms (say, 20' to 30' apart). ..Al
Jess Ragan #3 Posted April 8, 2005 You can do it from across the country if you've got a wireless access point and the knowledge necessary to set up your PSP and computer. I'd like to do this myself, but without a router, it's probably not going to happen. JR
Dones #4 Posted April 8, 2005 Wow, imagine that. A tunnel-type software for wireless-online PSP play! Sounds techie. Considering how easy it was for Halo and Mario Kart to be tunneled I can see this as a very feasible idea.
Jess Ragan #5 Posted April 8, 2005 It's already been done, according to this FAQ: http://db.gamefaqs.com/portable/psp/file/p...sp_wireless.txt Good luck trying to figure out this gobbledygook, though. JR
Gregory DG #6 Posted April 8, 2005 Can you run two through your wireless router and play each other? Do you even need the wireless router? Man, I want one of these things... Gotta wait for Christmas tho...
CPUWIZ #7 Posted April 8, 2005 Do you even need the wireless router? Nope. BTW, we tried the distance test at work, it seems to stop working after about 50 feet.
Albert #8 Posted April 8, 2005 BTW, we tried the distance test at work, it seems to stop working after about 50 feet. Pretty cool that you can be in one room and play wireless network games with someone in another room, without needing an existing wireless network to connect to. ..Al
