brianwolters #1 Posted April 8, 2005 I always loved the "Dear Atari Anonymous" ad where people came over and never left. They wanted to play Missile Command, etc before they go. I never found a clip of that on the net. Anyone have it? Brian
MisterE #2 Posted April 8, 2005 How about the one where two space aliens are playing a game and the victor declares "A-Ha, I won!" The loser nonchalantly draws a ray gun and disintegrates the braggart. I think that was an Atari ad. Anyone remember which game they were playing? My hazy memory says, "Space Invaders" (but I'm not certain).
Tempest #3 Posted April 8, 2005 Gotta be the bad rap 2600 jr. commercial from the late 80's. "It's the 2600 from A-tar-ri" Chessy, but I still remember it to this day. Tempest

The other commercials are but hazy memories. I can recall several, but couldn't quote a word of dialog or hum the tune they were playing in the back ground, but the Atari rap, that's burned in forever. Voch #5 Posted April 8, 2005 "Demon Attack! Tough!" The rapping commercial was truly evil. Voch

Mindfield #7 Posted April 9, 2005 The 2600 rap is probably the most infamous of the ads. Who doesn't remember that bad white-man's rap? :-) I have a few favourites for various reasons: The "Where Were They Then?" ads that featured people that were currently or later became stars. ("Buy Two Get One Free" with Elizabeth Shue, Activision's "Ice Hockey" featuring Phil Hartman, Activision's "Stampede" featuring Gary Grubbs, and of course the 8-bit series with Alan Alda) The fun MTV ads for Centipede, Pole Position and Joust -- cheesy, but fun. "The Fly" theatre spot -- impressive early computer animation. The Tempest 2000 (PC version) spot -- because it shows off every penny of the $2.75 they spent making it. The UK spots for the Jaguar -- because hey, where else can you see two Gorillas shagging while one's though bubble shows he wishes he was playing Jaguar? The Jaguar "Stimulus Response" ad. ("Hey! Get off my lawn!!") The 2600 "No Hit Records" ad -- because you couldn't get any more 70s if Shawn Cassidy starred in it. Hell ... they're all fun. :-)
ntavio #8 Posted April 9, 2005 Definitely the Atari Jr. rap. "Under 50 bucks......50 bucks???????????" A classic.
Vic George 2K3 #9 Posted April 9, 2005 The commercial where Ms. Pac-Man does Ethel Merman: "Hey, fellas, don't you know? I'm more than just Pac-Man with a bow!"
