sku_u #4 Posted April 13, 2005 Before worrying about major repairs, have you troubleshooted already? --Checked the solder joints --Checked the wiring and connections for frays/breaks --Checked the fuses
Red 5 #5 Posted April 13, 2005 Since it's possibly a monitor problem, I can't tell you how to fix it, but I can tell you this... DO NOT TOUCH THE MONITOR ! My Galaga monitor went out on me. It was acting funny and by adjusting the settings I was able to keep it around for longer than it should have lived. When I finally got a new monitor to replace the old one, I shocked myself so bad that my grandkids will feel it... if I ever have any. I learned the hard way, but the monitor remains charged, even if it is unplugged for a LONG TIME. There are ways to get the charge out of the monitor. You will want to find out how before you mess around with it. The shock can really kill you. I barely brushed the back of the monitor and it knocked my ass to the floor. Just a friendly safety tip. Cassidy Nolen #6 Posted April 13, 2005 FTWIW, http://atarionline.com/acade_fixing_info.html Read through it. Sounds like you may want to find an area tech to come out and get you started though. Cassidy

kidsconnection #8 Posted April 22, 2005 I truly feel like an idiot on the robotron 2084 game I take this game to a repairman he tells me the cord the previous owner replaced the original cord with was also bad and he installs a new cord and plugs it in, and there it was a picture of beauty with bright colors very little screen burn, and awesome sound.. Millipede is there now getting fixed along with Space Invaders 4 and Killer Instinct 2. So instead of selling as a nonworking machine I can now sell as a beautiful working machine. The cost to repair Robotron was 60.00 the price of seeing this light up and hearing the sound = PRICELESS!!!!
