First Real Xbox 2 Picts are out! Aka 360

Whoah, I have an XBOX but I think for the next generation im going back to Nintendo or Sony (I originally had a PS2 sold it for an XBOX, I feel stupid) that thing looks horrid

I don't care what the case looks like. The silver and green pic does look like CAD to me, but the second pic looks like the real thing.

 

What I want to know is

-what are the games going to look like, cost

-what are the real specs of this

-when is this thing coming out

-what will happen to the current xbox

-what is the relationship between this and xbox, if any.

 

In short, why would I want this thing over a current xbox, which has hundreds of games out right now?

Whatever the Xbox 360 turns out to be, they are doing a really great job hyping it up...especially with those MTV commercials to get all your high school and frat boys excited about it.

So, you secretly want the PSP because its new and all that talk was to throw us off? You fooled us, but not for long. Oh, no Sir. You love the idea of having powerful graphics and knowing they didn't hold back. And that you can download movies and shows to it and listen to your MP3s on it.

 

Anyways, I think the new Xbox looks...interesting. It looks cool but weird. I wonder what the games will look like. Its hard to imagine how they can get better to me after playing Doom3. I suppose they can up the textures and shadows in games or something. But wow.

I guess you missed the latest picture of the new memory cards then. Not to mention the picture is everywhere not just Teamxbox. I also think you have your widths and heights a bit off. Following the width of a DVD and the height of a normal drive, the picture of the new console shows a much smaller console than the current XBOX..

If it is real(and I'm of the opinion it's a render but maybe a render based on the real design), I think it looks OK. It's not awe inspriing or horribly ugly. It looks like the Dell PCs some of my co-workers have but painted silver.

 

I think I'm in the minoritry of not caring 1 bit what my consoles look like if they have good games. The SNES is one of the ugliest consumer products ever but has a great library. I'll take great library over good looks any day.

Take a look that the latest two pictures. The memory card and the HD and you'll see they aren't renders.

 

Id like it to look nice along side my array of electronics, but I could care less as long as it does what I want it to, and does it well. Play Games!!!

Those pics look real but they could still be renders. I've worked with guys that could do still image renders that could pass for real. Especially because they are close up with nothing else to compare their size/appearance to. In the end, I'd suspect renders that good were probably based on the real deal so it becomes kind of a moot point anyway.

Unless they are pictures / renders of a nearly final concept and the final is a bit different. I would imagine they are going to lead us in one direction, and then suprise us on the 12th.

ONLY wireless controllers! I'm sorry, that is going to make me not buy the new xbox. I HATE wireless with a passion, more than analog joystick 1st person shooters. The controllers become to heavy, there is a slight delay going from the motion to the tv (most gamers won't see it but picky 1st person shooter people like me see it, and annoys the HELL out of me, I got the MX-1000 Mouse by Logitech (the real laser one), and took it back immediately, because it still had the delay). Sorry, I don't give a crap if the xbox blows out everyone else graphically in the competition, the "wireless controllers only" will make me NOT buy this system.

From the looks of things, you may not be getting a next gen console because it looks like they are all going to have wireless controllers. Im glad though as long as the work well. Im tired of wires. That and as long as they work with LIVE.

I like it, but I've already decided I won't be getting one unless they get a Serious Sam or well.. that's it. That's all the Xbox is reduced to for me. Screw Halo. I'm also canceling my LIVE subscription! I don't even use it!

I already know the Revolution will have games I'll want. And the PS3 simply needs a Katamari Damacy 3 to make me bite. But what besides Halo does the Xbox as a whole have?

 

I dunno. The less good games at launch, the more I save. I mean look at how fast I bought the PSP because of that damn Lumines! A simple addictive puzzle game and I'm out $290!

 

Also, I don't like the "iMac" crack. It doesn't look a thing like an iMac, new or old design. Not one bit. It looks more like a bunch of higher end PC cases I've seen that tried to mimic the iMac's sense of differentness. But nothing like a real iMac at all. Not one bit. AT ALL.

 

Wait. I know what it really reminds me of. A TiVo Series 2 Silver. The current ones.

 

 

Also, I don't like memory cards on an Xbox. But if the attachable HD is real, I could forgive it... if I ever actually get one. Actually, I wish all consoles would just bite the bullet and include high capacity storage either built-in or included. Even if it's a freaking 32MB flash memory. The cards cost like $13 now! 8MB is so passé. Or passe.. or something.

Its mac on the inside Most think it looks like a silver dell pc. The shown memory card is 64Mb, and the shown HD was 40Gb in the picture. As for more than Halo, well if you can't see past that, I feel sorry for you. If you don't use live for more than Halo 2, I also feel sorry for you. Plenty of great titles other than Halo. Thats an old argument though and Im not going down that road.

So if those pictures are legit they 360 is really going to be the next x box name? Lame very lame it didint sound cool with the n64 and it sure as hell dosent sound cool now. And whats so bad about having a video game system look like a video game system? To me it looks like a computer or a shiny cd>i I would rather have a "childs toy" then a computer look any day. And even though it dosent effect the games presentation helps. Cant people come up with cool names any more? Really now the playsation 3 very inovative way to go the extra mile. Nintendo is just as guilty with lame prior names like super and 64 they dont sound cool they sound dumb. The jaguar is a cool name but what was the point of just giving the older systems numbers instead of real names? Both the ds and psp have stupid names especially the ds dual screen yeah i can see it has 2 screens. Was that really all they could come up with? The gizmando the n-gage those are cool names sega also had some sweet names aside for the cd and 32X. The genesis the saturn and i always loved the dreamcast as a name. Please stop using numbers think of some thing cool.

Then why are the development boxes mac boxes???? Its more mac than PC at this point. That much is a fact. G5s to be exact on the Dev boxes.

 

Anyways, most agree that XBOX 360 is an awful name for it. Here's to hoping for a suprise rename at E3. Please MS rename it something else....
