AlexKIDD #1 Posted April 25, 2005 At the moment the only accessory I have for my nes is the light gun. I'm thinking about getting some more stuff for this system and was wondering any other accessories such as Rob the robot, the power glove or the nes advantage are worth having? Dones #2 Posted April 25, 2005 Collector-wise I would say yes. R.O.B. serves as a neat paper holder. LOL just kidding. R.O.B. doesn't have too much use other that Gyromite/Stack up games, and even with those it's not that much fun. I always end up pressing the buttons rob is supposed to press itself. It is a great conversational piece however. If going for ROB make sure you get all the parts for it. The glove is pretty cool. A true icon of 1980's videogaming. The one I got doesn't work too well though. The sensor rods are busted. The U-Force however is actually pretty accurate. Playing Punch-Out swinging your fists is fun. While it isn't as responsive as a gamepad, you can play Punch Out with it very well. The Advantage is great. Heavy, sturdy design. Gotta love that adjustable turbo knob. The power mat is only as fun as the games you play with it. My nephews love Short Order/Eggsplode and Super Team Games. If you have Rad Racer or Adventures of 3-D World Runner, you can use 3D glasses for a pseudo 3D effect. Any set of glasses with a red/blue sheet will do (like those that you get in some movies). The Master System's 3D glasses totally kicks the NES in this regard.

keilbaca #4 Posted April 26, 2005 Wow... not a bad contraption. Not bad at all... I couldn't play an NES like that though...

A2600 #6 Posted April 26, 2005 Id say a 4-score comes in handy when friends come over, the Advantage controller rocks and a power pad is a neat contraption to lose weight (playing World Track Meet)

Zonie #9 Posted April 28, 2005 (edited) I made it with an atari joystick and a NES controller. The Nes controller board can be cut down to fit sideways in the atari joystick. It is needed for the multiplexer chip and the film pullup resistors. I installed small pushbutton next to the existing button's contact by drilling a hole in the atari's pcb and then bolting it in. I then drilled a hole in the controller lid just above it and inserted the NES button top above it. The select and start buttons are similar radioshack buttons. I will take some more pics of the internals and post them later. They are too time consuming to make for sale at a price that would be palletable to buyers and also worth my while, so I don't currently plan on selling them. I made this for myself. The most fun I get out of Video games is making controllers and modding consoles. Funny thing as my other hobby, model rocketry, I have more fun building the launch equipment than the actual rockets. figgler #10 Posted May 5, 2005 (edited) The NES Satellite is greatest accessory for the NES, bar none. Way ahead of its time, that. It provides accurate wireless support for ANY controller in your collection, plus optional turbo and 4 Player compatible. Sure it takes 6 batteries, but hey - it's good for over 75 hours of gaming. As for the best alternative controller, I've posted a pick of my personal fave below, the QuickShot QS-139, also way ahead of its time. Check out the thumb stick, not unlike that on the N64, plus the trigger button and hand grip. If you're at all a modern gamer, I swear the adjustment to this controller is a smooth one. It's great for shooters and helped me beat Legendary Wings and recently top my high score on Galaga. Unfortunately, it seems to be fairly hard to find as I've only seen it twice and bought both Edited May 5, 2005 by figgler
