tantone56 #1 Posted April 25, 2005 As of four o clock today I became a proud owner of the PSP. I am very happy that I dont have any dead pixels. I am loving twisted metal lumines and wipeout the graphics are amazing. My only grip is that the system and the three games set me back fourhundred and thirty dollars...well I didnt really want to go to college anyway. If my friend has a PSP can we play together without going online?

You can use the Ad Hoc mode to play against other nearby PSP owners... some games, like the aforementioned Twisted Metal Head-On, even let you play against your friends with a single copy of the game! Just make sure the wireless mode is turned on... you'll need to flip a switch on the bottom left hand side of the unit. If you're open to suggestions, let me recommend a few games to you. Pick up Ridge Racer right away... it looks gorgeous, and there's a lot of unlockable content, including new cars and tracks. It takes a while to get used to the drifting play mechanic, but once you've got it down the game becomes a lot more fun. Also, pick up Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix, if you can find it for a reasonable price (hint: not fifty dollars). It's one of the best looking PSP games around, and the gameplay is great as well. If you don't like the story mode, you can always play THUG2 in Classic mode, the way that Tony Hawk was meant to be played. Darkstalkers Chronicles is iffy. I love the series dearly but it's been sliding downhill since Vampire Savior. Moreover, both the control and the access time in Darkstalkers Chronicles are terrible... you'll wait a good ten seconds for each match to begin, which is especially annoying in the Chaos Tower mode. Nevertheless, it is a perfect translation of the Dreamcast game, without even the slightest hint of audiovisual compromise. Playing my favorite fighter of all time on the go in perfect form was a moving experience to say the least. It was a must-have for ME, but if you're not a Capcom or Darkstalkers fan, you could probably skip it without any remorse. JR
Radio F Software #3 Posted April 25, 2005 I reccommend Mercury. I know it has gotten sub-par reviews, but I personally think it is a GREAT mix of Marble MAdness and Monkey Ball action. It it at least worth a rent I guess, but it is an awesome tihnking game, better than Luminies IMHO. Also, if you like puzzles, look into the upcoming Smart Bomb. I hear it is going to be very good, I have a copy reserved for me at GameStop.
tantone56 #4 Posted April 26, 2005 (edited) hey thanks for the suggestions. I spoke to soon on my pixal situation... I noticed a dead pixel in the corner of the screen which for the most part I can handle but then I saw that there is a pixal that constantly remains red right in the middle of the damn screen that drives me nuts. Guess I will exchange it soon. by the way do you think there will ever be a way to get some sort of emulator running on the psp... that would be so cool Edited April 26, 2005 by tantone56
