mrppv666 #1 Posted April 28, 2005 I have a 1988 SNK P.O.W. coin op. It's has a jamma board and I wondering how I can play other boards with it. I've had the machine for a couple years now and since I'm graduating school I'll have some free time to tinker with it and was wondering if there's like manuals to change jamma boards online somewhere or how I'd do it. What games can I play on the machine too? Jamma? Jamma+? My machine has 3 buttons... can I play 2 button games? 4 button games? I'm just looking for info because I have no clue! I'm sure many of you have lots of knowledge and can help me! Thanks! Kevin
sebastius #2 Posted April 28, 2005 Basically, you can play anything that says 'JAMMA'. And even older games, but with a Jamma converter. Everything will work just the same, maybe with some monitor adjustments. Be mindfull of one thing, that some games use a vertical monitor (rotated 90 degrees). mrppv666 #3 Posted April 28, 2005 Interesting... thanks for your help... So I could play say WWF Superstars which is a 2 button jamma game with horizontal monitor? And I could play WWF Wrestlefest which is a 2 button jamma+ game too? That Jamma+ thingy makes me confused hahaha.
Stingray #4 Posted April 29, 2005 Obviously you can only play joystick games. Don't expect to buy something that uses a trackball or a steering wheel and expect it to work. Swapping out JAMMA boards is only slightly more trouble than changing a cart in a home game system. -S
Dutchman2000 #5 Posted April 29, 2005 Yes, you can play WWF WrestleFest in your JAMMA cab. The + means that there are additional connectors on the PCB for 2 more joysticks and buttons for a total of 4 players. JAMMA only has 2 players normally. benjam138 #6 Posted April 29, 2005 I thought it was some long, drawn out process, but all you do is unplug the board from the Jamma connector, then plug the other one in. Very simple
