Schmutzpuppe
Just out of curiosity, will the final version be using that odd hollowed-out font? 909921 I don't think so.
Schmutzpuppe
These files don't seem to work in MESS anymore. No images are recognized in either the BIN or ZIP files, and when you rename FROGGER.BIN to FROGGER.A78, it just crashes the emulation. What am I doing wrong? JR 910189 It should run with mess. Maybe you should download a newer mess version?
+Mitch
I think the last update only had the bin not the A78 file. MESS requires the A78 version. Mitch

Mitch 910695 You are right. I forgot that I only posted the bin I'm not getting any sound Game plays great though. 910728 The attached version is with A78 header and works with sound. frogger.zip
NightSprinter
Oh my God.. dude this actually beats out the GENESIS version. I've got to say this has to be what is some of the absolute BEST programming I've seen on the 7800. Seeing you got the graphics AND sound done virtually perfect to the arcade I'd have to say you've truly tapped the 7800's potential of making an exact port of an arcade game. *hehs and would like to see people re-do Ms. Pac-Man, DK, DK Jr. and even make a couple fo the other Pac-Man games using both the TIA sound AND Pokey sound*
DominiRican05
I can't get this to run in MESS and it's the latest version.

uosipa llamxew
Tritto... Err, I mean with me, that makes three. [edit] I finally downloaded the ProSystem emulator and got it to work! As I see it, this is as close as you get to the arcade version that you will get without playing an arcade unit. Unfortunately, I don't hear the music all the way through, but I'm not sure if that is because the ProSystem emulator does not implement a Poky chip or if the game doesn't have all the music. At any rate, and I keep saying this... but, I really need to get myself a 7800 console, if only for the great homebrew releases! shadow460
I had trouble with the sound, too, under ProSystemEMU. That happens with all the games I have. Til today I guess I had an earlier version of this ROM. Today I said what the heack and clicked the file. It's pretty good.
Schmutzpuppe
Thanks guys. You keep up the motivation Unfortunately, I don't hear the music all the way through, but I'm not sure if that is because the ProSystem emulator does not implement a Poky chip or if the game doesn't have all the music. I am still working on it. The latest release has only the "startup" music.
Schmutzpuppe
Here is an updated version of Frogger. This version has more music, more levels and the "speed up timer". The music sounds a bit scratched with the Prosystem Emu, Mess sounds better but unfortunately the top of the display isn't visible. frogger.zip

Mitch 942022 Just tried that .bin - doesn't seem to work. Or the settings need to be changed now. FROG78 7800_48K 78QUICK Worked with the last version. Mitch 942166 Okay, I changed it to Pokey. Beautiful! This is easily the best classic home version of Frogger I've ever seen I do notice an entire screen flicker every 5-6 seconds or so though. The last couple of versions I've received have had distortions on my 7800. 942047 Which version was the last one that worked for you? And what kind of distortions you see/hear? I really need to buy an NTSC Device... I do notice an entire screen flicker every 5-6 seconds or so though. 942178 Did you had the same problem with older versions and do you have PAL or NTSC? Anyone else have this problem? So it's seems to be a general NTSC issue, it runs fine on my PAL device. The problem is that I don't have to chance to reproduce it Edited October 5, 2005 by Schmutzpuppe
