Lost Monkey #1 Posted May 4, 2005 Just a heads up.. I was at a Game Crazy yesterday (in Michigan) and they had all games predating the PS2 on sale for 3 for $15. I think the sale is good until the end of May, and is nationwide. I picked up the following titles: N64: Mario Tennis (marked @ $24.99) Yoshi's Story (marked @ $14.99) Banjo Tooie (marked @ $14.99) Zelda: Majora's Mask (marked @ $24.99) Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (marked @ $19.99) PSX: Blues Clues: Big Musical Movie (marked @ $12.99) All NES, Genesis, Saturn, PSX, Gameboy (not GBA), Dreamcast and N64 titles were included. As far as I could tell there were at least 500 each of N64 and PSX games on the floor, and the guy working there said he had more in the back... Anyway.. I am going to go back either Friday or Saturday and try to hit up another store - I still needs me some Paper Mario.
davepesc #2 Posted May 4, 2005 Awesome! I've always found GameCrazy to be pretty overpriced, but I'll have to check this out.
Bruce Tomlin #3 Posted July 9, 2007 Now it's 2 for $5. Of course all the good stuff has been taken by now.

dookieboy #7 Posted July 9, 2007 Yeah my game crazy isn't good at all for finding anything unless you want to pay $5 for mario on NES or something. lol
Merrick Bill #8 Posted July 9, 2007 Yeah my game crazy isn't good at all for finding anything unless you want to pay $5 for mario on NES or something. lol All the Game Crazy's near me have gone out of business. There were two I used to visit all the time that closed down. I would have traveled to some of the more distant ones when the sale first started, but after two months I'm sure there's nothing there to make it worth taking the trip. Bill the game crazy's here are way too high. I'm not paying 10 or 15 for a sonic and knuckles loose with a missing door
Scumdogg #10 Posted July 9, 2007 It's weird that there are still Game Crazy stores with high-priced older games. I can't help but wonder if these are reports from people who haven't actually been INSIDE a Game Crazy in a couple years, or if they're looking at old tags and ignoring the sale signs that override them. According to the manager i talked to, they're clearing out all the classic stuff chain-wide, and the 2 for $5 sale that's on now is likely to get even cheaper to clear out the last sports games and other remnants. Doesn't make sense that there'd still be stores charging $15 for a loose Sonic & Knuckles.

jboypacman #12 Posted July 9, 2007 Yeah i heard that from my GameCrazy too Scumdogg which i think is a big mistake on there part as there are really not alot of stores left selling the older stuff.
RJ #13 Posted July 10, 2007 (edited) The bin was nearly empty but I got Tomb Raider: Last Revelation (DC) & Vectorman 2 (Gen) recently. Vectorman 2 had a $1.99 tag, funny to see games "marked up" for the "sale". Luckily the clerk kept it at $1.99. But after trying TR:TLR, I wouldnt've spent $2.50 on it if I'd known how crappy it is. Havent tried Vectorman2 yet. Edited July 10, 2007 by RJ
superjudge3 #14 Posted July 12, 2007 Lucky you! The Game Crazy where I live absolutly sucks ass! They have maybe 10 SNES and 5 Genesis titles, and maybe 5 Dreamcast games...that's it as far as older systems go! And the other classic gaming store wants an arm and leg for everything. Get this $69.95 for Starcraft 64!!! LOL! I have a feeling that that game will be there until the store closes down.

Havent tried Vectorman2 yet. Vectorman 2 is OK - very pretty graphics, pretty good action, but poorly designed levels: too many blind jumps drove me absolutely crazy. EDIT: And to be on-topic, as recently as six months ago the Game Crazy near me was glorious: lots of NES, Genesis, DC, N64, SNES, stuff. But went there two months ago and all the DC/Saturn stuff wasn't even displayed anymore, the NES/SNES/N64/Genesis stuff was drastically reduced, etc. I suppose that there isn't enough money in selling that stuff anymore to be worth the shelf space. But the 3/$20, 3/$15 sales (which, apparently, is going on indefinitely at said Game Crazy) were designed mainly to clear out once and for all the old stuff. When it's gone, it's gone. I like buying from stores, even though it's a bit more expensive and/or the prices are goofy sometimes - it's fun to hold the games in your hand, fun to make the decision and walk away with a game in your hand, but it looks like online buying is the wave of my future. ewing92 #16 Posted July 12, 2007 True, I enjoy it a lot more when I go to a store and feast my eyes on some classic video games, than going online and looking at a picture of something that will take a week or two to get here. On the GameCrazy side of things, I picked up 2 Dreamcast games, Sega GT and Tony Hawk 2, in the 2 for $5 sale. They also had other sales going on, including a sale on peripherals in the front of the store. I grabbed a PS2 Wireless Logitech controller(one of the giant ones) for $2.99, and an Onimusha 3 PS2 Katana(even though half of it was missing). My biggest complaint though is that there isn't one near me. My town isn't that small(Marion, OH), but they are missing some major places such as Best Buy, Target, White Castle, and Hollywood video to name a few. 8bitgamer #17 Posted July 20, 2007 The Movie Trading Company recently began selling Atari era games, so take a look if you've got one in your area. http://brettweisswords.blogspot.com/

Damn! A store that still carries 2600 games, unless its a used game store that sells only used games, most of them around me stopped selling 2600 games almost 10 years ago. Surprised that the game crazy here actually had a handful of nes games.
SINGLE TOOTH #20 Posted July 20, 2007 Someone buy me a Mario Kart 64 if you see it. Do those stores sell officail N64 controllers?
MCHufnagel #21 Posted July 20, 2007 Someone buy me a Mario Kart 64 if you see it. Do those stores sell officail N64 controllers? While there is still some interesting PS1 stuff around. There is nothing but sports titles left for the N64. I've been to three local Gamecrazys and that's about it. There aren't any GB/GBC games left either! But I did pick up a couple of Saturn games at one. They were Cyber Speedway and NHL Powerplay '96.
