Acid Drop/My Golf/Ghostbusters 2/BitCorp NTSC

Recommended Posts

I offered the NTSC versions of these PAL games a while back, but the big problem I have is that shipping from Germany is extremly slow and expensive.

Nobody wants to wait 8 weeks for a game, but it seems to take that long today and in some cases, items never arrive or are returned to me.

Because NTSC versions are an offer for North Americans (Europeans can play the PAL versions) this is my big problem.

The shipping is exactly 7 Euros for 1 game. That's about $9 today for the slow surface mail. It's 8 Euros for air mail ($10) and 10.05 Euros with insurance which is necessary ($13).

For $13, shipping one single game isn't interesting anymore.

So to offer these games, I'd need someone in the US who could ship them to the buyers.Shipping one single package is not so expensive and I think shipping in the US isn't that painfully slow and unreliable as these overseas packages.

There are the following games :

Acid Drop (Salu)

My Golf (HES)

Ghostbusters 2 (Activision)

and from BitCorp

Dancing Plates (Tanzende Teller)

Phantom Tank (Phantom Panzer)

Open Sesame (Sesam oeffne dich)

Space Tunnel (Weltraum Tunnel)

Mission 3000 (Mission 3000)

Snail against Squirrel (Schnecke gegen Eichhoernchen)

Sea Monster (See Monster)

Bobby is going home (Bobby geht heim)

The first 3 games are SALU carts, the NTSC versions are on new ATARIAGE boards in new ATARI cartridge cases. That means there are 2 cartridges, the new NTSC one and the original PAL cart.

These games were not officially released as NTSC.

The BitCorp carts are based on 4K EPROMs that can be modified.I can modify existing carts or use other 4K games to put the NTSC versions on them.

AFAIK all these games exist as NTSC versions by Puzzy Bit, but were only available in Canada and original NTSC versions are pretty rare.

Maybe someone is interested in distributing the games in the US.As long as there is no better way of shipping and the Euro is so much more than the Dollar, overseas shipping is just uninteresting.

There are no large quantities of the games, maybe 15 Acid Drops, maybe 10 Ghostbusters 2 , maybe 50 My Golf copies and about 20-30 copies of the BitCorp games. It could be interesting to offer them on an ATARI show, but I have no opportunity to travel to the US now.

BTW. I was not able to create decent labels, so I use white labels like SALU did.

Thimo

If anyone interested in empty boxes of Cookie Monster Munch and Big Bird's Egg Catch, including instructions and Kids Controller overlays, you can have them for free if you pay shipping.I used these carts for making the 16K games.
