Make Magazine lists w/ Article on 2600PC

Recommended Posts

Now only the second issue of the Magazine, but "Make: technology on your time" is a new magazine by O'Reilly for the geek in all of us. I subscribed to it and just got my second issue today. To my amazement, it had a nice article about creating the Atari 2600PC using a mini-ITX motherboard. If interested in subscribing, it is a quarterly magazine and you can get more info from http://www.makezine.com.

The thing that got me excited was that 8-Bit Classics was listed as a location to get an Atari 2600 for your needs. It also lists eBay, Yahoo Auctions, and Atari Ace. AtariAge was listed as a great site for all your homebrew needs.

Indeed! That article was a lot of fun to write and hopefully it inspires people to create some of their own classic/retro-related case mods and projects.

As a blatant plug, my Atari 2600PC article in MAKE was actually based off of Chapter 2 of my Game Console Hacking book (which also includes a few chapters from our own beloved Albert Yarusso!). So, if you're into hardware hacking or are curious about learning, check it out.

I haven't received my 2nd issue of MAKE yet, but I'm totally looking forward to it. Looks like this issue has a bunch of other videogame-related hacks, too.

:D

Yes, It has a few and one on how to make your own PCB's. Very good issue for those of you here. A little expensive for a magazine $15 for an individual issue, but wealth of information.

I was wondering about it, because I have the Game Console Hacking book also and had the same type of article in it. That was another good book by O'Reillys.

Thanks,

Corey
