Atari Haiku For You

Haiku is one of the most important form of traditional

japanese poetry. Haiku is, today, a 17-syllable verse

form consisting of three metrical units of 5, 7, and 5

syllables.

ATARI is great.

Don't you think that this is true?

I love it long time.

This is of course correct if you figure ATARI has 3 syllables. I dunno. Thats why haikus dies out...Too many fights back in the 70's about syllable count. Anybody else got one?

That last one Inky is a killer.

OK (flexing my typing fingers)

Defending the home

All attacks deflected

Warlords, safe are we

Popeye the sailor

Collector of love's tokens

Mint in box, ten bucks

Touch the sky, brave man

Acheive all goals, keep pin sharp

Circus Atari

As round as the sun

As bright as morning sunlight

Pac-Man sucks a bit

Chicken or egg, first?

Does it really matter much?

Freeway or road kill?

Leaping great fire balls

Dodging monsters wrathful ire

Must play Dragonfire!

Survive the cold day

Live the Land of Ice and Snow

Frostbite, highest score?

Enjoy!

Free with each console

Bandied around at low price

Combat in red box

Darth Vader model

Four buttons gleaming silver

Sleek, black it's all that

On a green grass pitch

Dodge a sliding tackle now

Wow! Pele's Soccer!

Once in old China

A man defied the dragon

Enjoy Off The Wall

It came from arcades

Ancient weapon to save friends

Crossbow a tough game!

He leaps here and there

He leaps forth and everywhere

Take the Frogger test

Up, up and away!

To rescue the animals

Sky Skipper's great day

Brave little hound dog

Snoopy versus Red Baron

Not common, quite rare!

It's late in UK

"Time for bed now", he says

Zebedee, wise man

Couldn't resist the last one (not Atari related) but it is 11.30pm. Perhaps I'll watch 'Dougal and the Blue Cat' (Magic Roundabout)

These are all very, very creative!

I don't have a Haiku, but I do have a poem that I wrote in high school. Can you find a hidden message?

My room seems more open

Right through high land

And North down in Saskatchewan

A bull in town comes home

It was posted in the classroom and no one ever caught it.
