dalton4life #1 Posted May 20, 2005 Kickass!!! I haven't played this game in 20 years properly ie, with a paddle but now that I am playing it on my 5200 with a paddle I'm hooked all over again. Addictive like Tetris all the way.
jetset #2 Posted May 20, 2005 Now you need to get Castle Crisis. Or...?whoops? did I just say that?
Charlie_ #3 Posted May 21, 2005 Yes. A few years ago I was making my own 5200 paddles and I also got hooked on Kaboom!. The 5200 paddle feels better than the 2600 paddle making the game more fun to play. Charlie
keilbaca #4 Posted May 22, 2005 How do I go about making these paddles? I LOVE Kaboom! and Castle Crisis, and I would absolutely love to play them with paddle controllers. Especially Castle Crisis, I love Warlords... such a great drunken game to play with friends =D
Charlie_ #5 Posted May 22, 2005 If you search this forum you will find plenty of posts about making your own 5200 paddle. Basicaly you take the pot from a 2600 paddle, remove the stick from the 5200 joystick, and install the pot and knob from the 2600 paddle in the 5200 controller. People have come up with many ways to hold the pot in the 5200 controller. I happen to be a machine shop supervisor, so I had one of my guys make me a nice washer that supports the pot perfectly. Charlie 859774[/snapback] Thanks, sounds like a project that I am going to do when I get home. I have two sticks, and being I am the only one that plays the atari, I have no problems turning one into a paddle. Hehe, this is going to rock... Castle Crisis on a paddle controller... Oh, does anyone have a spare Kaboom! for sale?
keilbaca #7 Posted May 22, 2005 Got bored, went home on lunch, made a paddle controller. I love it, took me maybe 10 min to complete it (the longest part was trying to find a washer to attach the paddle to). Already improved my score on Castle Crisis
