Atari Silver label arcade games

I think that Space Invaders, Centipede, Asteroids, and Vangard are pretty good copies of the Arcade games.

My favorite silver label game is probably Mario Bros.

I like almost every one of those I have played. Except for Ateroids, I just don't get it. Spin, shoot, spin, shoot, ad nauseum...

 

The Silver Label atari games are my fav (tied with activision games)

Off of that list, these are the only games i have played in the arcades. the rest of them i either never seen in a arcade or just never put money into to play them

Hmm... I did only play a few Games at the Arcades, i guess

here in Germany it isn´t as popular as in the USA.

I always prefered playing games at home. So i haven´t

played any of the old Atari-Classics in the Arcades,

except for Phoenix (I loved it!).

 

So i can´t say if the Silver-Label Games are good

Arcade-Translations, but i can say for sure every one

i played so far was a fantastic or at least good 2600-

Game on its own!

 

It´s hard to say which is my favourite, i guess i play

Joust, Crystal Castles, Phoenix, Jungle Hunt, Moon Patrol

and Millipede more than the others...

Not to nitpick or anything (which I am doing), but Asteroids and Space Invaders were released in earlier label styles (Asteroids in a Picture label and Space Invaders in a Text label). Both were released later in Silver label variations, but they don't really belong to the same generation as the later silver label releases. I'm guessing if Atari released Asteroids and Space Invaders around the same time as the other silver releases, they probably would have been more refined.

Albert - I agree with you that Asteroids and Space Invaders are not really "silver" label games. Who knows how good these could have been if they were programmed in the "silver-label era"??? (not to say they aren't good games anyway, especially SI)...
