Sears Baseball Cartridge Variant Question

Recommended Posts

I was just checking out some stuff on the rarity guide and under a search for Sears Baseball I found this:

Baseball Sears Text - 6-99819

Baseball Sears Text - 49-75108

Baseball Sears Picture

The cartridge I have is:

Baseball Sears Text - 49-75125

Anybody else ever seen this variant?

There's actually two different versions of that model number known:

Baseball                     Homerun

  6-99819      Text, M: large "8" above tele-games, E: yellow letters
  6-99819      Text, M: large "8" above tele-games, E: white letters
  49-75108     Picture
  49-75108     Text
  49-75125     Text, M: large "8" above tele-games, gold letters
  49-75125     Text, M: small "8" above tele-games, M: gold letters,
                  E: yellow letters

Yep, I have both large and small "8" versions of the 49-75125 cart BUT the large "8" version has a white text end label :ponder:

Also, the 6-99819 text carts do not say "Program Contents c. 1978 Atari Inc." on the main label.

Why the hell were there so many label variants. Anybody know the reason why?

To mess with us! :x

Updated printing templates, differences in ink, mistakes, corrections, I'm sure there were many reasons unintended. Some variants I think are bullshit but I can't stop myself from keeping them. For example, on the Sears and Atari text carts, some carts have blurry text, the others sharper. Nothing significant is different, just one is more blurry. Valid variant? I don't think, but I collect them both anyway
