birdie3 #1 Posted May 26, 2005 Has anyone played this yet? I know that there are some people out there that have this but I haven't seen any reviews or testimonials posted anywhere. I also remember reading in the Homebrew Forum quite some time ago that there was supposed to be an Easter Egg containing a "Billiards" game or something like that. Has anybody found it yet? Anyone who has had the pleasure of playing this great new game who would like to share what they think about it are welcome to join in. I finally received my copy today and I am quite impressed. Yet another excellent ColecoVision conversion from the folks at OPCODE. The two player Vs. mode rules!!

I've asked around but things have been rather quiet with the replies. I'm very interested in this one! As for the Easter Egg.. try the Konami code on the title screen... that may be it... this is a Konami game originally after all.
birdie3 #3 Posted May 26, 2005 (edited) I have been trying that one but it doesn't seem to work.. so far. All I want to know is if it's bullshit or not. Seems like it probably is. Edited May 27, 2005 by birdie3

I have no reason to doubt the person who made the game. Whether it's Billiards or something else entirely remains to be seen. Mind me asking how you managed to get one? I'm looking for a copy and would really like to get one.
SteveW #5 Posted May 27, 2005 I'd like to get a copy of a homebrewed game for the Colecovision, just to support the author, but I haven't got the slightest amount of interest in this game. I've even got a version on a Famiclone, and the game bores me. I'll be looking forward to Opcode's next games, but this one doesn't really do anything for me. This was posted months ago in the homebrew forum. Keep your eye on that forum because alot of cool stuff gets posted there. I played YAKF tonight for a while and got to the 7th fighter. I also read in the manual that there may very well be a surprize in the game and it is worth looking for so I take back what I said about the Easter Egg being bogus. I still have yet to find it though.. Surely someone must know and wants to tell me.

Kinda cool for the ColecoVision but I suppose it's not for everyone.
SteveW #8 Posted May 27, 2005 Well, fighting games have never really held my interest, let alone '80s era fighting games. It's all a matter of personal taste.

birdie3 #10 Posted May 28, 2005 So I guess no one knows... 863218[/snapback] OK. I found an Easter Egg but it's not the one I was expecting. Here is what I discovered: Hold down the "*" button on your keypad when you are powering up the machine. Keep holding it down until you get to the player select screen. Instead of seeing the option to "Select 1 or 2 players", you will see the option to "Press fire to play". If you do press fire on this screen, you will notice that nothing changes until you get to the third fighter. The third fighter sprite graphics appear to be a different version of that particular character (perhaps this is the original MSX version that is hidden as an Easter Egg). Hopefully there still is a "Billiards" game to be found somewhere.
+opcode #11 Posted May 31, 2005 Hi! Yeah, you found it. Hide in this game is the original MSX version, complete with unchanged graphics, bugs and easier gameplay. I can play the original version forever if I want... Eduardo
