bookpile #1 Posted May 31, 2005 Ok I just won my first Jag system, I can't wait to play it. I have hopes of this becoming my favorite system. But I was looking on ebay, I'd like to just buy a lot of games ot have an instant collection, but I see no such auction. Any ideas? Also what would you guys recommend picking up first if I have to buy individually? Thanks

Thanks 864458 Well hate to be brief about it, but most people would say to get Alien vs. Predator and stay away from Checkered Flag. Although I'd prefer a 2-D fighting game rather than a 3-D action game so I would say try Ultra Vortek first and stay away from Kasumi Ninja.
jesusc #3 Posted June 1, 2005 prepare to have your hopes dashed if the first game you get isn't Tempest 2000. Not great, but ok games include Defender 2000, Rayman, Iron soldier, Power Drive Rally, Raiden, and Doom. Everything else will make you cry.
Hyper_Eye #4 Posted June 1, 2005 I don't agree that everything else will make you cry. Some other games I recommend are Missile Command 3d, Cannon Fodder, Syndicate, Wolfenstein 3d (best version made IMO), Zool2, Rayman, and there are more but I think that is enough for now. These are games people wouldn't usually think to throw out but I feel they have offered me a lot of enjoyment and for me really shine on the Jag. jesusc #6 Posted June 2, 2005 cannon fodder was seen as most people as being excruciatingly difficult. Missle Command 3D was meh at best. Rayman I guess would fit as "ok", some people find it kind of annnoying (me included, the control should have been a lot tighter). Zool 2 is a nice example of euro programing (style over substance and playability) Wolfenstien was a good game. My bad. Games like Syndicate were made for computers, and suffer when consolized. So, for the most part, I stick to my original post.
bookpile #7 Posted June 2, 2005 So here's a noobie question. I was looking at Tempest 2000 on ebay and all but two copies are from great britian. So do you still have the same pal-ntsc problems on a jag that you do on a 2600? Thanks Travis

Thanks Travis 865994 Nope... only Dragons Lair won't work on all Jaguar Systems... you need NTSC for this game.. it was a case of bad programming I believe... otherwise all games are region independant. I'm not telling you not to like them, I'm just saying historically, more people than not haven't found them to be shining examples of great gameplay.
