Cassidy Nolen #1 Posted February 17, 2002 Hello all, Just wanted to put in a plug for Best Electronics. They sent my Road Runner priority mail, and it is perfect. The box looks great, and I paid 18 bucks. What a deal! I now have one of every production game (and a few of the protos I have made) between CX2601-CX2699. Now all I have to do is figure out what to start on next? Any suggestions? Cassidy

Mountain King #4 Posted February 18, 2002 Cool, I'm glad Best electronics was able to help you out. Go for the Parker Brothers collection or the Activision collection. They both will keep you busy for a while.
ATARIPITBULL #5 Posted February 18, 2002 Yes I have a suggestion, you can give me all your atari games and start the whole thing over if you had so much fun the first time around.
Adrian M #6 Posted February 18, 2002 Road Runner was the final 2600 game I bought in the 80's from the Sears Wishbook (remember that thing?). I was thoroughly impressed with the game and what they were able to accomplish with the 2600 hardware...

It shouldn't be as difficult as the 2600 since there aren't anywhere as many games.
Cassidy Nolen #8 Posted February 18, 2002 I do have quite a few games for the 5200, but have never solved the controller question. I have had the coin control sticks, and I even have a masterplay interface. By comparison though, it still is very hard to control. How are the WICO sticks? Is it worth the money for them and a keypad? Then maybe I would do the 5200. Graphics are great and Centipede with a trackball is a hit on the big screen. Cassidy Thanks for the suggestions. MattG/Snyper2099 #10 Posted February 18, 2002 hmmm. Road Runner, I gave up on trying to find an NTSC one for a reasonable price so I bought one form Australia for $3. Along with Ikari Warriors and Motorodeo since those are tough to find in NTSC as well. Anyone know if best electronics sells off the wall. That's another red label game I just can't find. kudos

Albert #13 Posted February 19, 2002 Wow, the Sears Wishbook, now that brings back memories. I remember looking through that every Christmas season, drooling over all the toys and games and everything else that I wouldn't possibly get for Christmas (and my birthday, which is two days after). But even knowing that, it was still exciting flipping through every page. Congrats on obtaining a boxed Road Runner! I would personally go after the Activision catalog next. First, because they have such a great variety in box colors, second because they look cool all lined up on a shelf, and third because they were the first third-party company for the 2600. You should be able to get most of their library pretty easily, it's the later releases that will cost you a littl emore. After that I'd probably go for Imagic, and then Parker Brothers. After that, well, there are tons of companies with smaller libraries. As for other systems to collect for, it's relatively easy to get most of the 5200 games boxed. There are only a few especially difficult ones, like Bounty Bob Strikes Back and Meteorites. It's relatively easy to get most of the 7800 titles boxed also.. I'd start with the 5200 first. ..Al

I have the Wico stick and beleive me, it's worth buying if you can find it. It offers both an auto-centering and non-centering mode which is great if you're used to current analog sticks used on the N64,DC and XBOX controllers. Even though the stick will auto center, it still feels a little weird using an analog stick for Pac-Man and other classics, but you do get used to it after a few games. While the keypad is a nice accessory, it's not absolutely necessary providing you have the Y-cable. You can then use a standard 2600 stick's keypad in tandem with the WICO stick. If you're going to do any serious 5200 gaming, I'd have to say it's well worth the money.
