seventh sage #1 Posted June 5, 2005 First, I'm a little confused about this. I'm trying to find Flash (RAM) cartridges for the original (monochrome or color) GameBoy system, not those new "Flash Advance" ones for the GBA. Googling and searching on eBay doesn't turn up any useful results. Is there such a thing, or am I just going crazy? If there actually were older Flash RAM carts made for the GameBoy, can anyone direct me to a site selling them? Even better, does anyone own any they're likely to sell for a reasonable price? I ask because I've wanted to test homebrew games/demos and have some media ready to test my projects on real hardware, and I don't want to spend an unecessary ammount on newer Flash Advance carts when I only need like 2-4MB of space (seeing how I'm interested in original B&W stuff, 256MB is way too much). Thanks in advance. P.S. If anyone knows of a schema/tutorial showing how to mod a regular GameBoy/GBC cart with an EPROM/EEPROM, that might be an option for me too. seventh sage #3 Posted June 5, 2005 Thanks, I see some interesting things, namely the GameBoy Xchanger, which I was probably thinking of.
gulag picture radio #4 Posted June 17, 2005 Be prepared to pay mightily. Those Flash carts are expensive. The classic versions mostly ran out of stock years back, and Nintendo seized a whole bunch as well. I would also like to get some of the older cartridges for use with GB music apps, and the classic grey Game Boy sounds best of them all. Sadly, I've only ever been able to find one 16M cart. If you do find stock of the older model flash cart, can you drop me a line? Thanks!
