Ok right after this auction started 2 people bid it up.  It is a little hard to find and might be on a few of your list.

Breakout label variation. I hope the high bidder is not an Atari Age member cause I hate that EbayID tag its seems rude.

I think that everyone of the bidders are from AtariAge. I personally could care less about this one but I guess that there are some people who really want this.

That is a good game... I was meant to be "testing" the paddles and controllers that were delivered today... fired it up to "test" with and next thing I know it's been half an hour! lol... will prolly go back to it after dinner too hehe.

That version of breakout is listed as a rarity=4, but the box is definitely tough to find. Several times, I have seen that version boxed on ebay mixed in with other games, but those lots always seemed to get overpriced by newbie bidding wars. While it is tough to find, it is nowhere as hard to find boxed as the re-release of hangman or some of the other re-releases I'm still searching for.

BTW, what was the ID that seemed rude to you? Looking at the time of your post (11:25PM EDT, 20:25 PDT/eBay time?, I guess I could have messed up the time conversions), it looks like it was this bidder:

Turns out, that is the same account that was used to impersonate me on eBay. So to me, the current ID is less rude than it used to be ;) .

Ok, I'm clearly missing something... after looking at the bid history, nothing looks rude to me, and

(as I'm sure you've all noticed by know) I'm usually the first to misinterpret things in naughty ways. :D

Looks like someone who doesn't want to be known has created a new account to bid on this thing. Or the shilling has begun. :ponder:

Hmm, 31 bids in less than 15 days. I can't figure out if they're in the US or GB because they seem to be bidding on both equally. If they were higher priced items I might suspect someone was false bidding but it looks fairly legit.

Why all the Zellers carts from Britain? Did they sell over there?

Ok, I admit I didn't really look :D

Buying Zellers carts from England seems even more perplexing to me then.

Wow this auction is going high right off the bat. I thought it might go around $50 or so. This is a shot of the 4 different boxes I have found so far for breakout.. With the one in the auction pictured far left. The instructions that go in the box so far I have found a full color set of the very thick worldwide edition and my boxed one came with the thick set in Black and white. Hope this info helps.

Arrrgh, 44 bucks for boxed but opened game with black and white manual! I hate black and white manual :x ! It bothers me :x ! You can buy Breakout for $9.50 without box but with color manual from here and here

Hey Jason, you're still missing one!

Hell you might be missing more than that! There's almost as many box variations as there are label variations. Sometimes the boxed warranty info on back side of boxes have the copyright dates inside the box, on yours above it's beneath it. And the pal boxes, prior to '86 of course would have a different copyright date. Lots of little variations to collect.

I myself don't collect these small variations, nor do I collect the label variations. But I keep major box variations, retitled games, alternate artwork, and the changes from color to grey, and silver to red, etc. I wanted this one because of the breakout label, and I needed it boxed so I jumped on the first one I found. I think I did a little better, because I also got a system & games with mine & didn't go much over the price this current auction is at myself. :P

I think someone just bought their own item. :ponder:

How much do you want to bet that empigtv will get a second chance offer?

It wouldn't surprise me if the seller had two or three copies of this game complete, and not realize that both of you were goning after the variation. 2nd chance offers might be on a complete text label.
