Ebay Shill Bidder, You Be The Judge

Recommended Posts

1st auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8187775636

Sold - 1 Feedback buyer - Semi-suspicious

2nd auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8192142832

Exactly same as first - Reserve not met - 1 Feedback high bidder (trying to raise the price) I e-mailed the seller and asked why 2 identical auctions, response: "I have two kids and had to have an identical set for each." (doubt it)

3rd auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Exactly the same as the 1st and 2nd - Fine the 2nd auction didn't sell, but a brand new 0 feedback bidder started the bidding.

Go through and look at some of the low feedback auction winners who win multiple auctions from this seller of completely unreleated stuff. Shill bidding at it's finest.

I just reported them to eBay. I emailed the seller a question as well:

I notice you are selling the same Colecovision for the third time now. How can you have the exact same item for sale 3 times?! Exact same picture and everything. You have been reported to eBay for shill bidding.. creating other eBay accounts or using friends to drive up your own price and to get positive feedback. This type of thing is illegal and not allowed on eBay. Any further activity of this type could result in your account being suspended and/or banned from eBay. In the future please refrain from conductions this activity, thanks.

PS - If you let me know where you live in Metuchen (since I live close by) I'd be glad to come take that Colecovision off your hands so you can't scam the eBay system anymore with your shill bidding. Then I can sell the Colecovision cheap to someone who really wanted it and got let down by your false promises.

No! The bubble gum is going to be listed next. It's a vintage pack of Bubbalicious from 1989 chewed by Juliette Lewis. I was walking down Hollywood & Vine one day and she spit it at me. I picked it up and noticed it had the indent in the shape of E.T. in it! I have 5 accounts I'm going to drive up the price to create a "hot item" and then Golden Palace dot com will see it and want it for $1 million dollars.

They replied:

"I am not shilling anyone. I had two exact sets of Colecovisions. The first set went out and the second set did not meet the reserve price. I did not know that I could not use the picture for the same Items. I have two children and they had the same games and I don't have any trouble having anyone checking for any shilling. I will not meet anyone, this will be shipped out to the winning bidder and if you win, wait for it in the mail."

To which I replied:

"Then how come several people are bidding on your stuff. It's not like the stuff is even remotely related to the other items. Some of the people are specifically bidding on your items only, some of the people have just created the accounts, some are in New Jersey. Coincidence?! That's weird you'd buy both of your children a Colecovision when they probably live in the same household and can share. I guess sharing is not one value you wish to instill in your children. For the record I wasn't asking you to meet you, nor do I even want your Colecovision. I just wanted to take it away from you so you can stop listing it on and on and on. One time I met this Genie in a lamp and he granted me one wish. I wished for a bunch of Atari 2600 Tooth Protector cartridges because they were worth a lot. After selling a few on eBay the price started dropping and I realized how foolish my wish with the genie was. I asked him how come he doesn't grant three wishes like most genies and he replied "Inflation, cost of materials, promotion" and poof he vanished."

Now look at their latest auction.. a noob buyer who just registered bid like 6 times! Outbid themself!

EDIT: Wish me luck! I placed a bid on their Colecovision. No, I don't actually want it or intend to pay for it.

Regardless of what you all suspect might be going on here ... isn't placing a bid that you don't intend to honor pretty much crossing the line? Let alone gloating about it?

I must live close to you Yuppi, since I'm like 30 minutes north of Metuchen. It's good you reported this person. Ebay knows when things are shifty. Usually people are stupid and are easily tracked. They use the same email, paypal, address, or bank info for the different id's. I would not have told them I reported them though. If for some reason they get your contact info, you may wind up with a brick through your window. I haven't gotten contact info lately, but when I did last time, all I needed to do was place a bid and then was able to request it.

I'm not worried. I need a brick anyway. LOL!

They can't get my contact info.. I bidded with a fake account setup specifially for the purpose of bidding on that auction. I don't even know the name I put in. I usually put the same address, tho because I've signed up for a million forums or other things on the web. 1 Smith Street, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. Birthday 1,1,1980. LOL!

Yeah where do you live?! I'm in North Brunswick. We should take a ride to NY sometime to fleamarket or PA. Someone on a forum told me of a big fleamarket in NY that will take over a day to walk through! I doubt it, but I still wanna go up.

P.S. - If you need any fireworks I'm going to take a drive to Pennsylvania this Sunday. I go every year. They have the cheapest prices I've ever seen. Where else can you find a gross of bottle rockets (144) with report for $2! Everything there is dirt cheap.
