Luc #1 Posted June 17, 2005 Just an idea... Why doesn't AtariAge sell posters with the artwork of some of the Atari boxes? I think it would be so great to have a huge poster with the picture of Earthworld and Fireworld hanging on the wall... I especially like the Fireworld artwork with the chalice floating in the air. Come to think of it: does the original artist of these pictures have a website?
hex65000 #2 Posted June 17, 2005 I cannot speak for Al. I'd guess that there may be some copyright issues attached to doing that. Now doing posters of art from homebrew carts (with permission) would be more viable and less likely to irrtate a major corporation. Didn't you just put this post in the marketplace too? Hex. Radio F Software #3 Posted June 17, 2005 Yeah, Luc posted this accidentally in the Auction forum. :S The Moderators can move topics, so next time let them move it rather than making two.

I realize there are copyright issues involved, but I just thought that if there would be enough interest, then maybe it would be worth going through the trouble of obtaining the necessary permissions. But like I said, it was just an idea. Uhm... and yes, I accidentally posted this in Auction Central too. Sorry about that.

I looked in the help section to see if I could somehow cancel my own messages, but couldn't find anything. I'll try to be more careful next time. SteveW #6 Posted June 17, 2005 One of these days, if I ever get the opportunity to put together a dedicated game room, I'd like to scan in some game boxes, blow them up to poster size, touch them up with Photoshop, and go to a printing place like Kinko's and get them to print it. Communist Mutants from Space would be cool. Slot Racers would be nice. Which box covers would you guys like to see as posters?
Radio F Software #7 Posted June 17, 2005 Custer's Rev-*SHOT* In all honesty, COmbat with the big tanks on it would rock, Indy 500, Dodge Em, and Space Master would be cool.
Lord Thag #8 Posted June 18, 2005 I'd sure buy some. In fact, maybe I'll have some printed at office max....
classicgamingguy #9 Posted June 18, 2005 *raises hand*...I'd like to see Phoenix as a super sized poster. I'd put that in my room for sure! And, let's see.....Pac Man..Asteroids, and Berzerk. My fav's! Steve
+kisrael #10 Posted June 18, 2005 At the risk of tooting my own horn, Dave Exton did some amazing work on FlapPing....I had him make up the image minus the text and logos for me at high rez to make a poster from, though I haven't gotten around to it yet... Steve 876329[/snapback] In Atari Age vol. 1, no. 6, Phoenix was the fold-out poster, measuring about 16x20". It would look really great as a 3x5' monster! I'd most want a Yars' Revenge poster. Followed by Berzerk, Adventure, and 7800 Galaga.
panda_racer #12 Posted June 18, 2005 According to a 1982 IMAGIC catalog, when you payed your $2.00 to join the numb thumb club you could get "a poster of your favorite Imagic game" the list is seperated by atari and mattel, but i'm combinig it. demon attack firefighter riddle of the sphinx star voyage atlantis dragonfire trickshot cosmic ark microsurgeon Beauty & the Beast Swords and Serpants The sample pictures in this are kinda... lame, but i've never been a fan of imagic art. the posters are the box art, but bigger. i'd get microsurgeon.. because it's creepy i'll see if atari age has a link to this.... here: numb thumb club
