Atari-Jess #1 Posted February 17, 2002 Alright, that menacing glow song is super stuck into my head and I need a copy of it (mp3 of course) WHO HAS IT???
NE146 #2 Posted February 17, 2002 I used to own a Space Invaders song on a 45rpm record and it was my favorite song as a kid. However, the only version of it that I've found on the net is this ultra crappy one in Realaudio format (ugh!). Download it here: http://spaceinvaders.retrogames.com/sounds/invaders.rm You might have to copy the url into your browser as direct linking probably isn't allowed [ 02-16-2002: Message edited by: NE146 ]
Albert #3 Posted February 17, 2002 I've never heard that Space Invaders song before! And that Space Invaders site is pretty cool, I spent a few minutes over there looking at all the great Space Invaders information they have online. Pretty comprehensive! As far as video game songs sticking in my head, Pac-Man Fever does a pretty good job of that. ..Al
Atari-Jess #4 Posted February 17, 2002 Well, it wasn't the one I was looking for but thanks anyways
Snider-man #5 Posted February 17, 2002 Here's what I know about the Space Invaders song: 1. It was recorded at a Cleveland, OH radio station by a DJ by the name of Uncle Vic. I know 'cause I used to listen to the guy incessantly when I was younger. 2. The Digital Press website used to have an MP3 of this song. I can't seem to locate it on their site though, so they've either moved it or removed it. You could ask them to send it to you. 3. WHen the MP3 was on DP, I recorded it onto a casette tape along with my PAc-man Fever MP3s. I could forward a casette to you if you wish. 4. After all the above happened, my wife stumbled across an original Space Invaders 45 record and a PAc-Man Fever 45 record - both on the same day! Both are in great condition (no scratches and very dust-free). They are a proud addition to my collection. Snider-man
Ian Primus #6 Posted February 17, 2002 I have that song on an actual 45 RPM record in good condition. I'll get it copied into MP3 as soon as I can, and post a link to it here. Ian Primus [email protected]
NE146 #7 Posted February 20, 2002 Any updates on that mp3?
Ian Primus #8 Posted February 23, 2002 OK, I got the .mp3 finished, it sounds pretty good, a little bit of record static, but that's hard to get rid of. I was going to put it on my FTP server, but it conked out yesterday (the hard disk that held Linux and the server software died). Anyway, I can email it to anyone that wants it, but be forewarned, it's about 3 meg. Ian Primus [email protected]

NE146 #19 Posted February 24, 2002 Ok so we got 2 Space Invaders songs floating around here. The 'Hit n Hide' version has always been easily available via Napster or Morpheus. However the first one (Uncle Vic) is still nowhere to be found. Has anyone found or been able to make an MP3 of that one?

BTW, Snider-Man, I didn't realize you lived in Ohio, that rocks!
Atarinvader #21 Posted February 24, 2002 I've found it on Morpheus, but its 'remotely queing' and I only have a 56k modem so it'll probably take a while.
