rarity question - dustcover / controller box

Recommended Posts

I just got a bunch of 5200 stuff.

If your interested read about it here:

http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=0entry877519

In the boxes I found a 5200 dustcover and some after market Atari 5200 controller boxes.

Are these rare? I ask only because I have never seen them before (other than ebay) and I have been collecting for a while.

I think you can still get the dustcover new through Best Electronics. I have 2 unopened and several others I use to cover my 5200s. They are very practical if you want to keep a system out and not worry about dusting it.

I'd be interested in seeing what the aftermarket switchboxes look like (they're not rare unless maybe they are from a company that isn't documented yet).

Not aftermarket like Wico.

I think I used the wrong termonology.

They are Atari 5200 controllers made by Atari.

Just sold separately in their own boxes.

Funny you should mention Best Electronics.

There is a receipt in one of the many from them from the early 90's.

Looks like they repaired a joystick. The receipt is on old dot matrix printer paper.

Thanks for the info.

*shameless plug*

If you're interested in getting rid of that dustcover for the 5200, I'd love to take it off your hands.
